Stuck

I was doing the dark descent quest when i got stuck. I was stuck in the wither skull part where i suppose to fell down. I tried to /kill and then came back but then i got stuck again.
Is there any way to fix this?
Is it because my internet or my version(1.16.5 optifine) ?
Or should i just suck it up and tried again?
Please help me, this isn't the first time i got stuck in quest part where i supposed to teleport but this is the first time /kill didn't work.

Do you mean the basement of the house part?
i get the same problem before.
i do this and the problem is solved.
1. /kill and go to the basement again
2. general graken should talk to you in chat after you fell (dont jump down to the hole at this period)
3. listen to his talk until a guy called ??? spoke in chat (dont jump down to the hole at this moment)
4. you should see your quest book changed its words to 'Investigate the strange dark realm'
5. jump down
it worked for me caused i'm too hurry to jump down into the hole

 

No, it was nearing the end. The place where there are wither skull.
But i do take your advice. Slow and steady and it work.
