Is Wynntils Worth It?

So, I've been seeing a lot of people talking about Wynntils in both a positive and negative manner, so I wanted to put out a consensus. Is it worth downloading?

 

It is. The minimap helps you not get lost, the macros (which are legal btw) help you activate you spells faster, and the markers and placable beacon is very fun to use.
The people who treat Wynntils negatively probably were harassed by people trying to make them use Wynntils.

 

Wynntils adds a lot of features, but you can live without them. It's up to personal preference, honestly.

Wynntils has a lot of cool features, so I'd say it's worth downloading. However, it is by no means necessary, and sometimes it's just good to go back to good ol' vanilla. To add to this, definitely play vanilla for a bit so you can differentiate what's part of Wynntils, and what's not, and that you don't become dependent on the mod.

 

It's also worth noting that, while the head dev of Wynntils is an admin, Wynntils is unofficial. If you wanna experience Wynn in the way it's "meant" to be experienced, then go without it. If you wanna try it out? Go ahead! You do you <3

 

Btw what bad things did you hear about Wynntils?

 

Just, like, people memeing it, sounding somewhat exasperated of it, nothing too negative-

 

I'd only recommend it once you've gotten a feel for what the basic game is like (around level 40 or so)

 

i've played multiple classes 1-100 without it, so it's quite easy to play without it.
(also because my computer can't run it lol)

 

That might just be people who are sick of people spouting it as a panacea for every issue someone might have with the game or as the reason not to implement a suggestion. To put it bluntly; people who act like it should be required. As for actual issues with it, my only complaint is that I can't have vanilla health and mana displays, and honestly they might have added that; I haven't bothered to check in a long time because I don't really care.
