Community Event Results Of The Modeling Contest

Hmm I lied I actually got up at 3 PM holy shit I need to fix my sleep schedule.

It's been very hard trying to figure out how to rank all of the submissions.
I can't really say there's a standout #1 submission, so I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with my rankings here.

Anyways, lemme go through the submissions and talk about why I ranked them where they are.

#1 Panic Zealot by Fishcute

Spoiler: #1 Explanation

This is probably one of the simplest models in the contest, but it uses a really simple trick to really make it interesting. I love the head tilt, since it completely baffled me when I saw it, and had to open up the model file to figure out how it was accomplished

Beyond that neat gimmick, it's just a very solid model that fits well within wynn, with good colors and a simple but not oversimplified model.
My main criticisms are just small nitpicks like how some of the darker color bits on the arms don't wrap around perfectly (that one stray dark pixel in the middle of both outer arms), and the hand position is a little awkward as well, but both are very easily fixed and don't bring down the overall score.

#2 Calliophis Set by Ligua

Spoiler: #2 Explanation

Out of the top 3, this is probably the model that made me think the most about what you can make with the limitations of .json models. I had thought before of trying to make animated blocks but using an animated texture file that alternates which blocks are visible or invisible is big brain. (1024x8192 texture size and 336 voxels is a little intense for such a simple model.)
Beyond the really cool gimmick the models are pretty solid, although I do think they're a little worse than the other top 3 choices. Still, the big brain use of animated textures and extra blocks handily earns this a 2nd place slot.

#3 Steampunk Gauntlet by Irony

I don't think there's much to say here, it's a pretty flawless model from a technical standpoint, just without cool gimmicks. Good work as usual from Irony.

#4 Spring by QuantumNep
Had to add a #4 place because there were too many good models, #4 will get 32 LE.

There were 3 models that were very complex model-wise and therefore suffered in terms of the texturing, and out of the three this was probably my favorite. I can't imagine how time-consuming doing the texturing for this was, I definitely wouldn't have the patience for it. It does look pretty nice and the monochromatic palette does really work with this level of complexity, but it just doesn't belong in wynn. Still really really pretty and also high effort, so I had to give it a #4.

Chakram by Emolga3 and Guardian Angel by G_mg

Both of these look pretty nice but they both suffer similar problems to the #4 pick, where overcomplex models make it very hard to give the model good textures. Still pretty nice.

cool. ngl I prefer the charkam and guardian angel models more than the 3rd and 4th but thats just me.

This was a very fun model to make, and I'm glad people enjoyed it. Also thank you again to @GreenTheMeme for the pixelart this was based on. Honestly a lot of the design really is from that pixelart.

Sure! I might need to modify it a bit because the transparent textures work different in blockbench's renderer than minecraft's. Also I misaligned multiple parts of the model (rotating things by 22.5 degrees is hard). Might as well fix those texture issues you mentioned
