A crappy ramble about the area between the dimensions. Since the two planes are meant to fit together with some sort of glue (a la RuneScape), and someone has to watch over this glue, otherwise "haha reality go brrr"... In a nutshell, this is my headcanon as to how the transportation between the planes of material and influence works.

    ---------=[I am division line]=---------

So you're asking me what am I doing for fun? Wouldn't you want to know?

I kept watch. For centuries. Time has completely lost its effect on me during my stint in the Abyssal Plane - a seemingly empty void through which the planes connect and are influenced. 155 AP it was - I hid in the Abyss to escape the Nemract Massacre, after a certain sect of the Order of Shadows went rogue. Mesmerized by Corruption - a powerful force that was taking a lion's share of the province - they massacred everyone in the city. Nobody was spared. To evade, we did the one thing we never thought we would: We were forced into hiding. Alas, we were mortals. Our order died out in time, and our heirlooms were lost to the earth. Many of our artifacts fell into the wrong hands. All of our secrets went to the grave with those who kept them.

    All, except one.

You see, teleportation magic has to draw energy from somewhere. That's where the Realm of War comes in. It's description is somewhat vague, in that it was supposed to be a plane where warfare rages as commonly as the circle of life. However, it was also noted that several Olmic wizards that we accepted as "refugees" were able to tap into this plane to create a momentary rift between the Material Plane and the Realm of War. As small as it was, it was still large enough to allow one person to zip through the Abyss, into the Realm of War, and back - to their intended location. And someone has to keep watch of it. Normally, it would be a timeless entity. But by the time I hid in the Abyss, there weren't anyone left. I was alone, in the infinitely stretching plane between the planes.

    And so, I kept watch.

I have been watching everything that has happened since I hid in the Abyssal Plane - from the fall of proto-Detlas, to the Decay, to even the beginning of something so terrible that it culled half of Gavel's population.

Whatever you have to say to me, I am aware of.

Your travels through the Abyss have always been kept track of. Every single hop between the planes. Every jump that you make just to get to a location faster. Alas, the plane is its own cost. Realm of War is a soul sink. It is unknown as to why - the only thing known about the Realm of War is that it siphons the souls of those who travel through it. Perhaps this could also explain why some of the Villagers became raving lunatics in the recent years...

Now, if you excuse me, I'll need to return to my post. It's just a minute's float away, but the speed you have to drift is critical. Why do I have to return to my post, you ask? Well... let's just say a certain idiot thought it would be a good idea to zap themselves to the Realm of Darkness. To say he's a fool would not be giving him credit however - for his faults and single track minded loyalty, Bak'al is far more powerful than the elfess ever will be. To not intervene would be to commit absolute idiocy. I'll create a "distraction" for Bak'al to steer them both away from the Realm of Darkness.

Might want to tell the folks in Efilim to take cover when you come back, though. They might not appreciate what is coming to them, given her Aldorei origins.

I died at this point just to imagine the conversation in my head.
Btw, it is always a good idea to go to the Realm of Darkness. Why shouldn't it be? Lifesteal, Manasteal, heavy-melee will keep u alive and onetap everything under 200k health.
(+ a Inventory stacked with pots will be sufficient as well xD)
