‌psa: ‌our ‌life/mana ‌steal ‌probabilities ‌are ‌fucked

wynncraft is a very flawless game. that's why when we see that the attack speed multipliers for spells are the amounts they are (4.3, 3.1, 2.5, 2.05, 1.5, 0.83, 0.51). we can assume that these values can be used to calculate the probabilities of life/mana steal.

so that's what we did a couple of years ago, and got these values:

super fast: 5.8%
very fast: 8.1%
fast: 10%
normal: 12.2%
slow: 16.6%
very slow: 30.1%
super slow: 49%

and, as said before, wynncraft is EXTREMELY flawless. there's no way anything here could have gone wrong. the very thought is practically unthinkable, it would NEVER happen.

so, we tested it
and life/mana steal is probably /3s instead of /4s

sigh

basically,

• we took weapons for each attack speed
• whacked test dummies 1000 times with each
• recorded the amount of times mana steal activated

as it so happens, our results eerily matched calculations for /3s, within a reasonable margin of error

new values:
super fast: 7.0%
very fast: 10.4%
fast: 13.2%
normal: 17.4%
slow: 22.3%
very slow: 40.0%
super slow: 66.2%

very fast: 10.7%
fast: 13.3%
normal: 16.3%
slow: 22.2%
very slow: 40.2%
super slow: 65.4%

Even with better odds, my ms record is 13 hits without proccing on sslow

 

Even tho MR has worse odds than MS, I've gone 14 instances and procc'd mana regen on all 14 of them. Weird...

EDIT: Also was it just common knowledge that mana regen procs every 5 seconds because no one I've ever told it knew about that.

 

No, it was not common knowledge

you can easily test this yourself and ig eventually a thread will be made with more video evidence but, whatever

 

I always knew that every 5th tick of Regen would include your mr stat but I assumed natural mr was 5/4 not 5/5

 

More info: poison ticks once per second 3 times, as described, but the time between initial hit and first poison tick is actually closer to 1.25s

 

Best way is with Limbo or another -mana regen weapon (that's how I found out originally)
