Need Help On Star Thief

I got to the part of star thief where you go into the big room and fight the corrupted thief, but when I used my multihit, it launched him out of the map, and when I killed him I didn't get the piece of the meteor. I can't exit the cave now and I don't know how to get out, can someone help me?
