Info Item Team Thread - Item/ingredient/major Id Changes, Updates & More

Im very very scared for the fate of cata, I feel like the nerf hammar is gonna slam cata to a B tier dagger. Cata has its issues but with the S/T update impending basically every item in the game will get hit with a nerf, especially all thr thunder and earth mythics. How bad do you think the new mythics will be?

 

i think a nerf across the entire item pool is justified given the recent powercreeping

Considering the nerf will be in order to compensate for a huge buff, I doubt it'll be any worse than it is now. Remember, the whole point of the strength and dexterity fix is that they'll increase damage by a massive amount, hence why they're nerfing everything beforehand.

 

Good point, mulling about it more, this could be a way to stealth buff items like inferno, by slapping them with mild nerfs while nerfing items that really badly need a nerf like weathered, (assuming the bug won't be fixed)

Come to think of it, I don't think any items really need a nerf, the only items I can think of that NEEDS a nerf is weathered and freedom, i can think of a list of mythics that badly need a buff.

Lunar major ID when

 

The future is yesterday my friend. Lunar basically had a major ID before major IDs were a thing.

 

any major id that can be simulated by regular ids is bad
this would escalate to dumb stuff like "deals an extra 100% water damage" or "attack speed is fixed at super slow"

So does anyone know what all the item changes have been for the new update? Also anyone know what the major ID is on?

 

I was told by alta and bart in the aln discord the item is not yet in the game or the major has not yet been added but should be soon in another beta patch.

 

I'm going to go on a whim, and say it makes ice snake make enemies take more damage.
I'm not entirely sure I like it, not because it sounds bad, but because it's something I just kinda wanted ice snake to do in general.
Nerf Heal, buff supportive abilities on Ice Snake, Teleport, and Meteor, that was my dream ideal.

Mana Regen: 0 -> 1
Strength Req: 18 -> 27

Parasitic Abscission:
Effectiveness (to the left of this one): -84 -> -122
Effectiveness (to the right of this one): -84 -> -122
Strength Req: 31 -> 13
Defense Req: 17 -> 29

Roots of Eternity:
Charges: 1 -> -1

Serafite:
Health Bonus: -125 to -110 -> -175 to -140
Spell Damage: 4 to 5 -> 3 to 5

These changes will be on the beta the next time it is updated.
