I'm not even sure where the inspiration for this came from, I was doing the quest The Ultimate Weapon when it struck. I'll admit, it kind of switches from third-person to first midway through, but I think I pulled it off decently. This also talks about a bit of a theory that I came up with after reading this thread about Marius Twain and rune magic. Hope everyone who reads this enjoys, and I'd love some feedback on this too! It's the first time I've written something substantial in a while and the first time I've written something about Wynncraft, period.

Allow me to skip past what we all learned long ago. In the end, it took a strong thrust. The creature squirmed, tried to stab at the assailant from the tip of their spear using its tendrils, but lost what semblance of life remained in its body. The warrior brought their spear down, planted a boot on the corpse, and with a sickening SHLICK pushed it off the blade. They took a look around the now-empty arena. Red was everywhere, the remains of arteries repurposed to attack, blood from both the warrior and the monster they had fought. Corruption was rampant as well, they knew it from the splitting headache they felt. It was the same as the portal.

Of course, they couldn’t ignore the elephant in the room. The large eyeball that served only as a shell for the true horror. The Wretches, as the warrior had dubbed, had all vanished. Whether it was because they were a creation of the monster or if they had merely fled, the warrior knew not. Right now, they only knew of the pain their wounds held. Fortunately, it was nothing a few swigs of a potion couldn’t fix as they trodded back down from the peak of the Outlook. Danger had been around every corner, but now, no monster remained. It was eerily silent.

Finally, they had reached the base of the Outlook, and they had now noticed a brand new door that had opened. They pondered whether or not to go through, but in the end, we all know where they went. They never returned, instead entering The Realm of Darkness. And with the greatest hero since Bob gone… Wynn fell. The defeat of The Eye resulted in the release of darkness that was never before seen. The Light could only do so much against it, and eventually, Orphion was shackled, The Realm of Light becoming nothing more than a dull gray.

Corruption overtook Wynn completely, as you all know. The collide of dark against light was so strong that it nearly spread to Gavel. As far as I know, we are the last remaining humans, despite how gray our skin has become with exposure to the darkness. Nonetheless, it is time. We have the chance to escape. Don your robes, so that the past can never see us for who we are. In these stones, I have carved runes that will save us. Go. Warn the past. Warn them that the path they take is not one of light. And no matter what, do not let anyone obtain your rune. If they make it here, I can only imagine what horrors will break through.

I will hold the darkness off for just a little longer.

Reminds me of the Corrupted Dungeons-Future theory. Well written, sounds interesting and would be a logical twist.
