Eltom Music Sounds Similar To The One In Elkurn

Is it just me, or does the eltom theme sound similar to the elkurn music?
and if this is intentional, does anyone have any idea why?

Same chord progression, but if there a canonical reason, I’m not entirely sure.

 

Playing both of them on top of each other sounds so good

 

I originally heard the Eltom music and was like, "This sounds really familiar..." and got confused and thought it sounded similar to maltic, which makes sense because Maltic is the villager city in wynn, and eltom is the human city in gavel. But when I realized it was Elkurn the only reason I can find is just that they start with E.

 

Eltom and Elkurn are both human settlements. The only explanation I can think of is that Eltom is made up of ex-Elkurn citizens

Eltom is also the antithesis of Thesead, which is why Elkurn, Eltom and Thesead all have the same tempo and similar structure

 

It's probably a coincidence. Eltom's music is meant to be similar to thesead's music, but with more harmony, and thesead is more of a solo with some stuff in the background. The names of the songs also are related

I like both songs, but the reason I feel they are the same is because they are kinda like each other.

Eltom is a human settlement in Gavel that is right next to another territory (Molten Heights)

Elkurn is a villager settlement in Wynn that is right next to another territory (Neesak)

 

Elkurn isn't a villager settlement. There are some villagers (Viraex, etc.), but there are also humans (Picard, Reynauld, CAID, etc.). More importantly, it's existed for hundreds of years, long before the villagers arrived in Wynn.
