Community Event How To Do Giveaways On The Forums

I am wanting to start a giveaway with multiple winners, but I want the winners to be completely random. What is the best method of hosting such a giveaway on the forums??

 

I would assume a random number generator for what page of the thread it is, than doing another to see which post on the page wins it

 

That is exactly what I was thinking, I just don't know how to prevent multiple replies.

 

Well you don't have to be able to check everyone, just check the winners. If they've posted twice on the thread then roll against, you could additionally speed up the process by going off of post number since it's independent of page. I've rigged done some giveaways before and that's how I've always done it

 

Lol, fair! Thanks for the info. Someone in my guild is thinking about writing some code to compile a list of unique people and stuffs. I would much prefer to do the giveaway in the guild discord, but I assume that's a massive no. Lol

 

You could do the giveaway just in the guild discord, but hosting a giveaway meant for people outside of that guild in it would be a bad idea, yeah
