SPOILER (poll) Will Fruma Or Dern Come First?

The other day I witnessed a heated debate in the wynn discord regarding which region will be released first. You'd think it would be Dern but after thinking about it I'm kinda in the middle, and apparently there are others who strongly believe Fruma will come first. I'm interested in what people think, because the straightforward answer would be Dern but there are some decent arguments for Fruma such as predicted region levels and location in the storyline.

I feel like the CT will make Dern into a HUGE new place that will receive multiple expansions on its own (similar to the overworld over the past few years) and before they'd do something like that they would likely finish the overworld by adding Fruma

Plus, it's been said that we'll be getting a Fruma update before a storyline update

 

Most likely Fruma, since it’s been heavily implied that there’s something very, very fishy going on inside the walls (who knows, maybe the Queen practices Void magic), while Dern in of itself is probably the most hyped up area of the game (except for Gavel ofc), the Endgame, if I may, which will decide the fate of this world (after which they’ll probably expand into other Realms of Influence, as alluded to in RoL V).

Basically, the choice is between having a powerful mage-queen or an almighty god of the Void as the big boss, and I’d very much like to postpone having to role play the reason why my corrupted-af character would like to kill the latter.

 

In my opinion Fruma, as Dern will be probably the end of the game and there is too much to complete

 

I think fruma because it was just an update ago we got the se so it would be pretty boring to release dern then, because people would probably be bored of the “black + purple = scary” concept. This sparks a whole new debate: wouldn’t dern be pretty much identical to the se? Assuming you unlock dern after AHC that’s the player going through a big scary black area to another big scary black area. I hope frumas level range is between the se and dern

Dern might just be a Dark counterpart of the Realm of Light, with a raid too (I think), but there is literally a missing corner of the map where Fruma is supposed to be, so I think that Fruma will be released first. Remember though, this is only my opinion

seems odd to complete se then retrace you're way back through to fruma then to go back again once you're done and besides; frumas's guards are level 60 at the gate and this is just plain speculation but I reckon there has to be a quest at Level 71 (I think) about Fruma's fountain of youth since we know all the provinces have one and the other 2 quests for wynn's and gavel's are at 71 ( I think)

My theory is that the Fruman royal family have control over this fountain and use it for evil though this is just 100% speculation and i hvae no evidence to back this up

 

Seeing everybody's voting for Fruma, how about I make a counterargument just for fun?

If I'm gonna say Dern will be released first, here is my support argument:

While Dern sounds like a very big place and have great potential to be much larger than RoL, it's solely related to the war between light and darkness. Content-wise, if I want to expand the story of an ongoing mmo server, I'd make Fruma into a completely different story / concept. By different concept, I mean separating the "war between light and darkness" and a "completely unknown and mysterious province". That way, after the war between Orphion and Dern Beast is over, you won't be saying that you finished Wynncraft, since Fruma will still be untouched.
Of course, it's also a viable ̶a̶r̶g̶u̶m̶e̶n̶t̶ hypothesis to say that Fruma's royalties are just using the power of Dern to practice magic. However, that way, Fruma will just be another Gavel. Logic-wise, it sticks to the "original" story. But content-wise, the CTs will miss the big opportunity to introduce a brand new concept that isn't about Light and Darkness.

tl;dr Dern first, because Fruma can be used to introduce concepts other than the war of the two realms.

Not exactly. Although they are separate, for now it seems that the story directs you to beating Dern Beast (RoL, SE quests), meaning they are still the endgame.

What are the reasons for this again? I do not know about a single thing supporting this claim except "They did magic"

 

It's just speculation. If one's gonna argue that Fruma's related to Dern, this is one possible claim.

Not to mention that, this is just a counterargument of my counterargument. Acknowledging the naysayers, no matter how minor it is, can strengthen one's argument.
I personally, of course, believe Fruma SHOULD NOT be related to Dern.

 

If it is a specualtion, its weight is heavily lowered. I could say that Fruma will be first because Tasim will charge at the Fruma gate and break it to allow us to get in, but is it an argument?

 

I would say it's valid. I'd have to finish The Hunter's Calling tomorrow before I can comment on this (Or just, never). Reading the Wiki isn't enough.

 

Obviously Fruma is coming first.

 

Afaik there is nothing in AHC about Fruma using Darkness

 

Lari said "The light realm was much larger before", meaning its size can change based on its strength. So Dern actually has potential to be large.

 

While I think Fruma may be first, it's also highly likely a minor improvements update that expands upon previous features (like more housing features, Jungle/Ocean/Corkus discoveries, more fableds, more raids scattered throughout the world, and more quest revamps like the CoTL quests, Bob questline, and Wynn Excavation questline) will come first. New features and areas are great, but focusing too much on new features can neglect other old features that are in desperate need of improvement.
