The new housing is very cool to use and I love the idea of trading items for items, but I was wondering. Why can't we place items in our housing if we traded for a chest? Like I can't put any crafting materials in a chest in housing. Is housing just a building feature or will that feature of putting items in chests be a feature for a later update?

    chests are cosmetic
if your rich enough, you can make your island useful by buying armor stands and trade markets, so that way if your in a town like Olux or Nessak and want to put something on the market, you can just go to your housing and use that market. And if you want to quickly change builds, the armor stands allow you to quickly equip armors and arrange skill points (at the cost of 2 soul points, I think)

I hope they make it in the future so u can use the housing for more than just a spot to build
like where u can craft armor and weapons and other stuff and store your things like u could in Runescape

Not sure if you meant it this way, but in almost every town there is a bank where you can store your items
