Vulgar Shouts

I already posted this as a bug report, but over there it's gonna get minimal attention, so I wanna bring it up here as well...

Why? Why did you have to filter/censor shouts?

Today, I wanted to ask a simple question via shout so that I could reach more people, found out that I can't, cuz I can't type something as fundamental to wynncraft as /class into a shout. You know why? because /clASS ! Oh no! It's ass! One of the worst slurs! This game is PG13 for god's sake, people can handle swear words, why do you have to make everyone's life more difficult by adding this filter.

Btw. this was my shout: How do I despawn my pet permanently plz? It just respawns every time I /class even tho I despawn the pet in /pet

I literally couldn't even ask the question, cuz I found no substitute for /class... /clbutt? /clbottom? /clpelvis? idk... Also before anyone comes saying that I should've asked in the "Questions" section then I did ask, but on Discord and over there only one person tried to help me, unfortunately with no success, but thanks to Fleega anyway. And I have a bad experience with the Questions section on the forums as I never get answers there, so I just didn't bother.

 

They need to make it so that it only censors discriminatory slurs (like the N word) and not petty swear words like ''Fuck'' and ''Shit''

 

Words that should be censored:
fuck (maybe)
shit (maybe)
slurs
Words that shouldn't be censored: literally everything else

 

They shouldn't censor those words, especially since they use words like "damn" and "hell".

They should just censor slurs and words that are very bad by themselves (N-word, c--t, c-m, etc.)

 

I tried a shout with “1.20” in the name....

“No shouts with inappropriate links”

Oh the irony

so this means no lari roasts Franklin roleplay in shouts?

 

If the swear filter works on shouts, I don't really see the point in making it filtered no matter what (I'm assuming this is the case).

 

The swear filter is broken for me in general, even though I have it off I can't see class or assassin, but can see everything else.

Thank you for your bug report. You are welcome to continue this discussion in the Bug Reports subforum; there is no need to make a second thread about it.

Shouts are filtered/censored for obvious reasons.

If there are specific issues with the way the filters are working, you can let us know about it in the bug reports, and we'll take a look at it.

Just so you know: your report has been discussed, outside of the forums, and the filters are actually working as they were intended to. That doesn't mean that they are working perfectly, or that they can't be improved. Or won't be improved.
