    ok so I get the mechanical reactor and it's an untradable. so I'm like "ok this is not a quest item so it is useless" WRONG you need this fucking thing to progress and I threw it away. I am now unable to do the

    You should be able to get another one by right-clicking Duvale at (-1613, 51, -4964).

    Also, in the future, you should probably ask these kinds of things in the questions subsection, or file a bug report if it still doesn't work.
