Deju Vu - Asher Is Frozen

I was unable to pick up the shovel during this quest and i left the server came back and it says i have to return the shovel to Asher but i dont have the shovel and when i click on Asher a message says "the apparition of Asher is frozen in time, unable to speak or move". I dont know what to do. When i click on the book and pin the mission it doesnt even give me a location

 

go back to the tree where you got the shovel

 

we can't collect the shovel anymore, it's stuck in the last part where it says, "Listen in to Old Man Martyn"

 

I'm stuck with the same dialogue but in a later part of the quest

 

so for whatever reason the quest fixed itself for me and let me complete it . Honestly I'm not sure what happened but maybe just try leaving the quest alone for a bit and coming back later

 

Would have thought that right clicking the npcs with empty hands or with the shovel would do the trick but.. ig its bugged :/
but you should try doing the quest from the beginning and try and see if it works.. do /kill if you're really stuck and can't get to any point.
