Please Help Me!! It's A Bug?

I was on duty, when I got back I was stuck under the well

 

Do /class a couple times, each time moves you up a few blocks and should eventually get you out, and if that doesn't work just do /kill

 

Spamming /class to phase through blocks is exploitable and potentially bannable, so I would advise just doing /kill with 5+ soul points.

It can't be bannable to get out of the floor with /class right?

Though I’m sure you wouldn’t get banned if someone saw you getting out of the floor by doing this, I wouldn’t advise telling other people to do it.

 

Well you are abusing a mechanic to phase through blocks. There's a lot of room for abuse.

If I decide that its ok and if it is obvious that it wont influence the game in any way I don't care about this.

Honestly we need to be a bit more logical and not blindly do the things we're told to do

Great philosophical thinking but personally I would rather not encourage players to keep using /class to glitch through blocks, because they might decide to experiment with it in other places and go from "questionable" to "definitely an exploit" ^^ I don't wanna hear your moral principles, I'm just telling you that something might get you banned, not commenting on whether or not that is how it should be.

This isn't for exploiting tho, it's to get out of a block that you got stuck in, I've literally seen CT say that /class sticks tou a couple blocks in the air for situations like this.

 

We have been advised to not suggest that. It's not for exploiting, but you're introducing them to a mechanic that's unintended, a glitch, and could potentially lead to them wanting to apply it in other places where it would absolutely be exploitable.

 

I would agree with Dwicey about the class thing.

1) Even if you do /class while stuck, you could either get out or get more stuck

2) People can do /class to get into places they're not supposed to be. I remember someone in my lobby found a bug where they /class ed into the SE

3) /kill is a much safer option because you don't run the risk of getting banned

 

It can be used to get into Bob's tomb so I see why, I also see why you should be able to use it to fix Wynncraft's glitches. But I suppose if u allow it for that then it opens up doors

If you use it responsibly then you won't be banned. Simple as.

I don't think spawning 1 block above is a glitch, but more of a feature that is intended to prevent the possibility of lag allowing people to fall through the floor to their death or something like that. The way to fix people from abusing it could be to make it so that whenever the calculation for where you should spawn when you login is done, it checks if there was a block above you where you last were. If there was, it will not put you upwards.

If this is indeed a bug then everything I said is invalid.

 

There really needs to be a clarified rule on this because if someone got banned for using it to get themselves unstuck that would be bullshit

 

wtf no I just respect his opinion. I still think /classing to get out of the floor is ok but I can understand his point of view.

 

I doubt anyone would ever get banned for using /class to get unstuck, I just recommend against encouraging people to use it because it is a slippery slope and some players are very... creative with their usage of the command.
