Hi I'm a new player on the server and joined not an hour or 2 ago. And I'm not sure if someone made a thread already about this problem. If so my bad :)

    Problem:

the first 20 minutes of me playing the game were great. But after that the game just randomly started lagging every 10 seconds for a solid 8 seconds. (And this pattern repeated itself for atleast an hour) which you could also imagine it would destroy your immersion & progress.

Edit: Btw THE MOST ANNOYING PART. the game wont allow me to pickup/drop/equipt items and interact with NPC's without it kicking me out of the GUI...

I closed many programs/chrome tabs/ checked my Internet/its a pretty good PC. And yet I have to deal with this. Is there a solution to this problem? I would love to know!

I think this is pretty common. If you ever look at the noteblock soundtrack on YouTube you'll probably see jokes about it not sounding right without the lag lmao. I can tell you that for me Ragni and Delas are the laggiest places on the map since they tend to be busiest

There are many ways to reduce lag. Check that you have /toggle playerghosts turned off, I’d suggest using options (and playing on 1.12.2)...

there are some parts of the game that are just laggy for some players (for me, the sky islands tend to be really laggy sometimes, but other times it’s fine). In these areas, just turn down any video settings to help the lag.

Also, because the 1.20 update just got real eases, there may be more players than normal (= more lag) and there may be bugs in new systems causing more lag which may mean that in the coming days/weeks, lag may improve.

    hope this helps!

I would also suggest using Optifine and changing render distance, etc.
