After the massive dupe, 2 options were left: a rollback or disabling the trade market and trying to manually fix it.

The best long-term solution would have been a rollback but they tried to ignore the problem and make us think it was under control. The trade market was down for almost a month, which ruined the gameplay of many players, many lost their motivation to play, including myself.

Now Trade Market is finally back and what do we discover? The whole economy is ruined, prices went crazy high and nothing seems to have been solved as dupe incidents keep happening. We can not be sure about this but I would bet an arm they could not find all duped le, nor take it out of the economy.

If the economy seems ruined for the current endgame player base, imagine how is a new player gonna get into the game. The joy of playing to try to make money is just inexistant as you know your time spent lost most of its value. The economy is in a terrible state, and the staff does not seem to make a statement about this topic.

I even purchased Champion before all this mess happened but I am not gonna bother playing.

Lol, if anything the economy seems to have mostly recovered (the ingredient price spike is because of ingredient lootrunning no longer being viable, not because of the dupe).

The ingredient price spike is also due to the new crafts and the gathering xp bonus but that is not the point here. I am looking at mythic prices, and if you would conclude with "the economy seems to have recovered" I can not take your comment in a serious way.

As Salted stated many dupes have happened in wynn's history and they never had to do a rollback and neither they had to now.
I logged on wynn just to check those mythic prices and they seem only slightly higher than before for all mythics and some got much higher prices (guardian) because they are actually good in TCC.

irl Germany managed to stop hyperinflation by making a new currency, so couldn't Wynncraft make a new form of currency only usable in the trade market, maybe in the form of diamonds or something? That way emeralds are still (sorta) important for NPCs and stuff, and the insane prices are fixed

the economy isnt ruined, all of the ingredient price hikes is due to ingredient lootrunning being effectively removed, along with the extra demand for gather xp items

I agree with the sentiments of the folks who are saying that the TM is better. I didn't look too closely at mythic prices (mostly cause I have like 6 LE to my name right now kek), but for the most part things seem to be as they should on there.
If anything, the market has seen a slight improvement in that not everyone has automatically put all of their items back on the market, so it's not super saturated. and because supply is down on a few decent items, it gives people a chance to sell their stuff. It's essentially just a seller's market right now. Over time as more items get put on the market it'll rebalance.

Ingredients, like Ron has said, went up because of chest loot nerfs. Gear prices being high are just a symptom of there being very few on the trade market. There are also new items which haven’t been found/lootrun for en masse yet and so people can charge exorbitantly.

I have not seen a single item overpriced except for ingredients, but those ingredients are all either new, or rarer than before. This is exactly what is to be expected, and I’m actually surprised by how well the market has recovered.

You should not judge how the economy has been affected on day 1 of market being released, prices are going to be wack. Wait a month and make another post if you want.

Yesh, Weimar Republic brought in the Reichsmark in 1924 which helped to stabilise the economy. Germany destroyed its own economy by essentially printing more money than they had, a bit like what the UK's doing at the moment (but we're successful too haha).

I think if what OP's saying is correct then we should be wary of what to do next, if not then he may just be mistaken

The price always surges when an update comes along. Also the market was down, which means that people area little more desperate to buy stuff than they were before, and there are fewer low prices to compare items to, so people will start trying to bump up prices a bit to get some more cash before it stabilizes. It's certainly not nearly as high as it was just a year or so ago.

prices are high since market just came back, and a bunch of people overprice. As long as no one is buying at that price then it means that it isn't the price

Finally somebody who actually understands how markets work, I honestly can't believe people are still complaining about the dupe when it had literally no effect on the markets, though that's not really surprising since there's no reason why it should have in the first place.

Mythic prices are high because their in high demand, people are dying to actually buy a mythic off the market, the prices will die down eventually.

I, too, enjoy making fearmongering threads whilst being completely uninformed about how economics, particularly video game economies, work. All that whilst accusing staff of trying to cover up the true extent of the damage is just great. Recoding the entire backend of the trade market sure is ignoring the issue.
