You cant. They removed them in a past update. They left the refineries so people who had unprocessed stuff could use them.

imo they should make refineries cost a certain amount of emeralds to use for a chance of raising the star level of a gathered resource (similar to rerolls)

Idk about it costing emeralds (I would rather it be a really rare chance like 1 or 2%), but I do like that idea. I was thinking you could use it to convert materials into XP but that actually makes a ton of sense, I'm totally sold on that now!

Flesh out idea, make thread, please and thanks. <3

To beat the dead horse, yes logs are legacy from the HERO beta before the professions dropped live and I believe they were around for a while before CT went, "stop" and made it a choice at the node. I kinda wished we stuck with the unprocessed because inventory space.

cool thanks guys although it would be cool if the first resource could be turned into the second for example; wood to paper, meat to oil, grain to string, metal to jewal, ete now when you are leveling up crafting profs and you have excess wood or something you can change it into something else for another prof

When you level up crafting professions, you will need more materials than you gather from leveling up gathering skills to the same level. Because of that, you'll eventually use all of your mateeials when leveling up everything, so it doesn't really matter what you choose in the first place.
