    NOTE: Contains 1.20 spoilers

Hello! I decided to make a Wynncraft lore iceberg after I saw people on WynnTheory discord talking about making one, and I thought it would be cool and maybe informative to some people. The iceberg follows the traditional iceberg meme model, where the most surface level lore knowledge is at the top and the most obscure lore facts/theories are at the bottom. Note that some of these (specifically "Troms = burger king", "There is a war in the Fruman walls" and "Every copy of the Wynncraft lore is personalized") are jokes.

(Also as I said not all of these are facts, some are theories)

Thanks to people from the WynnTheory discord (specifically @TrapinchO, @Blastbasher, @LeviLips96, @ditsario and some others) for helping me with some ideas and moving stuff around.

That's actually a really important part of game lore, I hope we see more expansion of it in later updates. I feel like there's a lot of untapped potential here and am very disappointed in the CT for not exploring it more.

Eh, not really. The "There is no war in the Fruman walls" is a reference to the "There is no war in Ba Sing Se" quote from The Last Airbender. It's probably intended to make the citizens of Fruma believe that there is no corruption, that there is no war of the realms, that everything is peaceful, and speaking of the war of the realms could get you imprisoned and sent off to Wynn, just like how in Ba Sing Se talking about the war with the Fire Nation is illegal and would get you brainwashed. Though Fruma itself is definitely involved in the war, it just censors it.

Lol. If you could survive the toxic gases and the lack of oxygen it would be pretty funny

Time to over-analyze this to prove I'm a lore nerd.

    The Tip:

Qira: Qira is a powerful sorceress who almost serves as a test-maker to prove a soldier's might. She makes all of the creatures in the Hive (Except Gale) and is feared by all of Gavel. However, nothing else is known about her, like who she was, how she discovered powerful magic.

Dern Beast: The Beast of Dern, possessing immense power, and is rivaled in power only by presumably the Player and Orphion. His eye was placed on top of the Eldritch Outlook so his gaze could spread all over Wynn.

Silent Expanse: A former part of Wynn inhabited by the Olm, this place now serves as the opposite of Gavel, the land of darkness on this plane of existence. Dernic influence is strong here, the only civilization left here is Lutho.

The Decay: As Gavel is the Province of Light, Darkness infecting Gavel is reflected onto the province itself, ruining crops as far as the eye (no pun intended) could see. An elf named Lari is trying to solve the issue with the Decay, and the Villagers are panicking over how they would live over the Decay. It was started from a mother parasite whose children now serve its will, spread the fading of the light.

Dogun War: A war that started 900 years ago and ended 200 years later, it was a war that ravaged the Molten Heights, both sides went to extreme measures, with the Dwarves chaining up a Frozen Dragon to do their bidding, while the Doguns planned to summon Garaheth, a demon banished from this plane of existence.

Bob: Known as the Hero of Wynn, Robert was born in what is now the Decrepit Sewers, with his mother dying in childbirth. Bob was then adopted by Momo, the poorest woman in Ragni who had some smarts, and taught Bob all he needed to know. Momo was later infected, and then killed by Robert, and he went on a journey to find the 4 masters of the arts. Bob trained with the masters, and then, in 886 AP, Bob and Bak'al fought right as Ragni was about to fall the War of Corruption would end, Bob miraculously won, Bak'al was never seen since. Bob served the rest of his life protecting the province, before going to kill a beast from a land of darkness far away (Most likely The Eye).

Bak'al: A Human who entered the portal, but instead of becoming a mindless beast, he instead gained powerful magic powers, and would later spread the Corruption where he walked. Every human in Wynn feared him, he destroyed an entire city in 347 AP, leaving only one survivor, he also killed a Twain, however, after Bob was the first human to defeat Bak'al, Bak'al was never seen until Lari was about to cure Orphion of his disease. Bak'al now presumably resides in Dern.

Realm of Light: The opposite to Dern, the Light is about doing what is right. The species that is the most tied to it are Elves. The light has its own beast, Orphion, who stands to maintain balance in the War of the Realms. With Orphion becoming infected, the Light has begun to fade.

Dullahan: An elf who was from Aldorei who worked with Lari to fight the Decay. Dullahan, in a last-ditch effort to save Lari, got bitten by the Parasite, causing his face to morph into a twisted one. Hundreds of years later, the Villagers of Gelibord connected the Decay with Dullahan's appearance, and later executed him with a Guillotine. Lari, shocked by these actions, sought to revive Dullahan. Lari went to the Lazarus Pit to revive him, and his physical self was brought back, but his spirit was gone forever. All that was left of him was a lifeless husk hellbent on revenge. He now rules the people of Gelibord under fear, and Lari, shocked by these actions again, sealed him in his bedroom, but his spirit still roams the Dark Forest, looking for more souls to break the seal, and to kill Lari as well.

Gerten War: A war started between the Villagers and a pseudo-greenskin species called the Gerts, presumably started over the Gerts kidnapping livestock. It ended in the victory of the Villagers, and Gylia Watch Tower was established to serve as a fortress against the Gerts. The Gerts are now trying to have their revenge, and tasty bacon.

The Olm: A species once known to live in the Silent Expanse and is now presumed extinct, The Olm were the original inhabitants of Wynn, who used to speak a language the Humans dubbed Wynnic. They possessed some magical prowress, and also were responsible for a mysterious place called Time Valley being constructed, and it is presumed they moved to the Dernel Jungle to escape the wrath of Dern.

The Corruption: Caused by the light and Dern touching, Corruption is a mysterious force that ravaged Wynn. Some affected by it, Garoth for example, managed to keep some of their sanity and mind left, but the Corruption tainted their minds too much, making them brainwashed to serve the Corruption. Originally unearthed by the leader of an Emerald Mining Expedition, the first one to be Corrupted was called the Corrupter of Worlds, and killed everyone in his sights, as well as most of the population of Wynn. Notable Corrupted individuals include Bak'al, the Corrupter of Worlds, Witherhead, Garoth, Theorick, Dwendle/Rickeo (Never stated who, most likely Rickeo), and General Skien.

Orphion: The Light Beast, opposite to the Dern Beast. It chose the player as the savior of light, as Orphion was infected by a parasite.

Nexus of Light: The Light is strongest at this place, serving as a palace to Orphion. Orphion can only be reached by whoever he deems worthy.

Dern: Opposite to the Realm of Light, Dern is another name for the Realm of Darkness, presumably inhabited by eldritch abominations, and can presumably destroy minds by whoever cannot understand both Light and Dern.

Bovemism: A religion presumably founded in Wynn that is about worshipping the Cow God Salted. There are Bovemist churches all over Wynn, and Gavel is starting to also embrace Bovemism with its own cathedral.

Eldritch Outlook: The tallest tower known to the world, The Eye sits atop of this tower, home to bizarre creatures. From here, The Eye watches over everyone in Wynn, and beyond.

Fruma: The origin province of Humans, Fruma is ruled by a monarchy that is oppressive. The humans there live in fear of the queen, who has powerful magical abilities. Fruma also sends people imprisoned to fight in the Corruption Wars. Among one of these recruits is the player.

The Eye: Presumably a religious figure before entering the Silent Expanse, The Eye gazes over all of Wynn, and is omniscient, created after the Dern Beast ripped one of its eyes out, and his gaze watches beyond this plane of existence.

    The Sunlight Zone:
Redbeard: The first pirate to terrorize the seas, Redbeard is credited for the founding of Pirate Cove, a haven for the Pirates of the Ocean. A war started between some captains, mainly Redbeard and Nomor Beard. It is unknown if Captain Goldenclaw participated. He now lays in an atoll, named Galleon's Graveyard.

WynnExcavation: Almost a sub-company of its parent company, Gavel Excavation, WynnExcavation is a scheme ruled by only the elite of Gavel, searching for four crystals scattered all over Wynn, and is presumably what the Olm used and later fell to their demise for. It is ruled by Amadel, and has wormed its way into the governments of Wynn, almost ruling the province with an iron fist.

Death (ToA) and Death (Real): There are 2 Deaths, one atop a tower in the Lusuco Canyon called the Tower of Ascension, and another in the realm of the titular character. The Death atop of the ToA it could be just a coincidence how Ankou has never seen Death, although it is likely Ankou met Death at some point, and modeled his Death after Death in his own Realm. The real Death, however, is generally a nice person to be around, making puns and often bargains with souls if they want to live again.

Wood Platforms in the Ocean: They could have been used by the Avos to escape their home island of Corkus, which was being industrialized by the Corkians. It is possible some of them hired Corkians to make those platforms in search of a new home, however, no new home was found. They are now commonly used as checkpoints for most seafarers.

Identifier Potatoes: It is possible they keep to the surplus of potatoes to feed their respective towns. The one in the Emerald Trail for example might have all those potatoes to supply the Nivla Village, however, towns that are big enough to not have a surplus keeper doesn't need the identifiers and rather holds all of them to distribute instead of the identifiers.

War of the Realms: Started in 0 AP, presumably when the portal was unearthed, the War of the Realms began. An array of different events happened. And Light and Dern began to fight on our plane. Parasites made their way into Gavel, Fruma shut down any connections with Wynn, and the Ocean proved to be a border between the 2 provinces, for if their forces could unite, it would prove a challenge to Dern.

The Canyon Colossus: The last of its kind, the Colossus is a stone behemoth, once serving as the guardian of the Canyon, only being tamed by the Doguns. However, once the Dogun War began, the Colossus could no longer be tamed, and with the Dwarves winning, the Canyon Colossus could mean the fall of East Gavel, just like it did to the Ahms region.

Ancient City in the Dernel Jungle: Founded by the Olm in an attempt to escape the wrath of the Silent Expanse, they needed a way to fight back. They found 4 crystals in the Silent Expanse, and when they were united, could be a force powerful enough to fight Dern. However, the opposite effect was brought, and instead ruined the city. They then scattered them all over Wynn and the Ocean. The Olm there now live there, frightened for their lives, and slowly growing more paranoid.

Amadel: Founder of WynnExcavation and also presumably the head of Gavel Excavation, Amadel does not care about his tactics to get the crystals left by the Olm. It even goes as far as to invade advisors and plans to use the crystals to become a god, ruling only in fear. However, Amadel instead became Corrupted, and could not handle the power of the Crystals, being killed by the player, and with it, the fall of WynnExcavation.

The Quartron: Made by a secretive group of bandits, the Quartron uses the magical properties of Quartz to power it, and no matter the reaction, the leader of the group, Harnort Quartron, plans to use them to defend the city of Llevigar, and to later make them serve as guardians to other cities in Gavel like Olux, Gelibord, and Cinfras.

Black Markets: These were presumably used to escape the authority of royalty. There is one in Almuj selling Wybel Paws, and another in Maex, all of which sell illegal products.

Yahya, Nohno, Mehme, and Sohso before 950 AP: All of these 4 brothers were highly intelligent scientists working for Gavel Excavation researching the meteors. They all logged their findings of the different meteors. However, researching these meteors caused their minds to be destroyed, first Yahya, with Mushrooms, then Mehme, with wood (probably) and hating Mushrooms and Chickens with a burning passion, and finally, Nohno, founding Rooster Island in the Ocean, to serve his obsession of chickens. It is unknown if Sohso, the fourth brother, escaped the magic of the meteors and went to Fruma.

Big Butch: A butcher who hunts and kidnaps Gerts to use as food for the Villagers of Gavel, often treating them with abuse, and sometimes, accidentally turns them into mindless, brutish figures known as Meat Abominations.

Gylia Cataclysm: The Gylia Plains were hit with a purple meteor (presumably representing Chaos, and maybe Dern) and a blue meteor (presumably representing Order, and maybe Light) in 1,700 BP, which created a large crater, which rain began to fill over the years. Both of the Meteors have enough magical power to destroy minds, much like the ones of Yahya, Nohno, and Mehme.

Wybels: A common household pet in the world of Wynncraft. They are just so cute! They are pronounced Wibb-le, not WHY-ble. They are also found on the Moon and in the Void, which is strange, as the Void warps all life in it. A rare Wybel called the Orange Wybel is almost like the mastermind of the Wybels, as they have actually come from outer space and are actually highly intelligent.

Desert Empire: An ancient empire used to rule the sands of the Almuj Desert, and the Emporer was immortal. He had several sons, a certain one, Hashr, was his 26th. Later in Hashr's life, he learned his father himself possessed little to no power, and all of that came from his scepter. Hashr later killed the Emporer to take the scepter for himself, however, he was not fit to rule, and as a result, a massive sandstorm swept the area, leaving the once-proud empire to be nothing more than a memory of the past.

Siegfried: The so-called "Hero of Gavel" is actually an actor made by an unknown organization. Siegfried was presumably born in Corkus and later traveled to Gavel, and then, he did one thing that made him earn his reputation as a hero, he single-handedly defended the entire city of Llevigar from a siege of Orcs. He later did other things for the people of Gavel, like defending Ahmsord from a dragon. He sells overpriced merchandise and hosts scavenger hunts determining who was the rich *THIS PORTION WAS CENSORED BY SIEGFRIED* biggest fan of Siegfried.

    The Twilight Zone:
Lari going to Dern: It is possible Lari either went to the Realm of War or Dern, but because Bak'al serves the Dern Beast, it is most likely Dern. Because Lari understands light, but not Dern, she becomes crazed and is presumably corrupted or tainted by Dern.

Mael Twain's Will: The last Twain that we know of that is still alive (And not corrupted) is Twendle, so it is most likely about him, probably teaching him the ways of spiritualism, although there could also be another Twain that we don't know of that is still alive.

Alive Island: The bright, vibrant, safe-haven that would later turn into Dead Island. It is presumed Alive Island fell sometime after 900 AP, due to Siwel being there. Strangely, Dernic Minions work there, and there were Dern Beasts (Not to be confused with the physical manifestation of Dern) there, so it could also be the only area tainted by darkness. Only 2 living people (Besides the Seaskipper Merchant) reside there, Cinfras and Old Siwel.

Gateway Island: A strange island that could only be a part of a dimension where it is only Gateway Island and nothing else. An unfinished letter can be found there to Nilrem, one of Bob's friends, but something more mysterious, is the Gateway Portal. The dimension there is unknown. It could be a sort of limbo, not exactly Dern or Light, but that kind of conflicts with the black spikes and purple aura, both of which represent Dernic terrain.

Sodeta Guild: A prestigious clan that is composed of the best mercenaries and soldiers led by the now-deceased Tisuan Sodeta. When Tisuan was still just a soldier, he earned most of his fame by fighting off 1,000 corrupted with only a thin shirt and a rusty spear. Most Sodeta were honorable soldiers, fighting for the good of the province of Wynn. The governments of Gavel also recruited the Sodeta Guild, and even offered to move them to a much better location in Gavel. The place where the Sodeta Guild resided would later be known as the Guild Hall. Tisuan Sodeta lived out the rest of his life defending Gavel, but after his death, the Sodeta Guild fell into disarray. Newer members only fought for money and pride, not honor, a splinter of the Sodeta Guild in the Wynn Jungle turned into a Neo-Sodeta Guild, but instead of it being honorable, it was still a cheap mercenary organization. However, with the Prince of Troms deciding to become a Mercenary like Tisuan Sodeta, it is possible that he could make a more honorable Sodeta Guild than the one Tisuan Sodeta made.

Sealed Letters: These were letters Bob sent to a friend of his called Nilrem, telling him to cover up what truly happened to him, creating a fake corpse and a fake death that he was eaten by Wolves in the Nesaak Tundra, while Bob really went to go fight the creature he talked about. Bob's current whereabouts are unknown, but he was presumed deceased in 984 AP, and the structure known as Bob's Tomb was created not long after in 985 AP.

The Void: Almost like a copy of the Silent Expanse, The Void is home to eldritch abominations like Void Spirula for example. The first time the void gained new islands was when the Ahms Colossus went too haywire and destroyed the whole region, sending half of the land underneath. The Villagers there experienced strange mutations, like purplish skin and eyes, glowing eyes, and elongating their oo sounds. It is presumably what the bridge between Light and Dern looks like, as it is tied with the Silent Expanse, drifting in a strange place of it seeking purpose.

Abandoned Mines: While the Abandoned Mines appear to be a notable structure in the south Wynn Plains, there is actually a vast expanse of the Mines hidden behind a seal to the Silent Expanse. In the Dernic Abandoned Mines, vast Emerald Deposits lay there, but more interestingly, humans. However, these humans are not like the soulless shells of Lutho, instead becoming Bewildered and even Obsessed over the Emeralds there. There are even Dernic Spikes in the Wynnic Abandoned Mines, as many miners sacrificed their lives to save the province. Few returned alive to their families.

Anya: An Olmic Oracle who foresaw the destruction of their land, Anya was most famous for creating a Penumbra to ward off the creature who would destroy the Olm (Not Bak'al), and later sealed it to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. Because of the creature kept finding it, Anya's descendants moved it across the Eyeball Forest and the Ruined Olmic City, where it now lays in Anya's Tomb. Some famous words from her were "The lightest light will never defeat the darkest dark. Only those who understand both can survive."

Regular Island: A seemingly Regular island not too far from the Jofash Docks inhabited by "Humans", who are actually goblins. It is unknown exactly how the Goblins got on this island and became more docile, but if the Goblins did get on this island, then it is possible that in Wynn, they also got there the same method as the other Goblins did.

Phoenix Prince: An Avos who was cursed/blessed to never die, only be reborn. He was the prince of the Avos, and despite his Avos brethren welcoming the Frumans to Corkus, the Phoenix Prince despised them. Because most Avos letting the humans stay on Corkus, the Phoenix Prince and his followers moved underground, where no human could disturb them. However, the Avos were not meant to go underground, and because of that, they lost their feathers, became more ill, and died. But the Phoenix Prince cannot die, and he sat there on his throne, waiting for the next human to come.

Ohms and Gale: 2 Star-crossed lovers. One was a mage, and the other an archer. However, after a while, Ohms had died, and Gale mourned him. Gale later died, and now roams as a spirit, still tethered to this plane of existence, seeking a purpose, later finding hers as a division leader of the Qira Hive.

General Skien: A famous general from Troms who was technically the former leader of the city. Skien possessed high strength and intellect, and his military genius is what kept Troms as the strong city it is. However, one of Skien's closest men had betrayed him, and while it was the man's fault, Skien was blamed. As such, he was exiled to an island in the Ocean known as Skien's Island. On that island, Skien would begin to go insane, and his men were treated horribly, as Skien would not let them leave the island, gave them the bare minimum to survive, and threw them in jail for silly reasons or none whatsoever. Skien would later have flashbacks to the war that destroyed him, and that everyone was plotting to kill him, which was kind of true. He built a stronghold on top of the highest peak of the island and even built a prison. He also began to develop a huge distrust in Villagers, believing their magic and greed to be as dangerous as the Corruption, especially due to the fact the Villagers only did it for money while Skien did it with good intentions. His men tried to escape and kill him, even the guards of his prison also wanted to, but they underestimated how powerful Skien was. When Skien suddenly realized who they were, it broke his mind down even further. Skien, the once noble and honorary general was now an insane lunatic who could not trust anyone. He attempted to call nearby ships for help, but once the ships knew who it was, they stayed away from him. What's more, the Traitor's Ghost had followed Skien to his island, to torture him even more, and also bring the Corruption to the island as well. Skien died of starvation, but he was revived afterward as a corrupted version of who he was after he reached peak insanity and before his own men betrayed him. His spirit resides near Troms, viewing anything and everything as a traitor.

Old Man Martyn: A reference to Martyn from TheLittleWood, Old Man Martyn is a human who knows everything there is to about Time Valley and the bizarre ways time works there. He knows of time paradoxes. One example is Asher, a man who died in the past, but was brought back to life due to the weird properties of time, but he died in the past without being revived by a person, thus creating a paradox.

Gavel Excavation: The parent company of WynnExcavation, Gavel Excavation was a lot like WynnExcavation, except they studied the meteors. Amadel is presumably the head of Gavel Excavation, and once Amadel learned of the crystals, moved the whole focus to Wynn, almost like a rebranding to WynnExcavation. The scientist brothers YY, NN, MM, and SS were all a part of it too before they went insane.
