For late-game (your mage class), I would recommend lootrunning.
Early-game, however, the best way is to do quests and farm Seavale Reef.

Seavale reef is terrible for making money. Buying hats in ragni, scrapping the, and selling the scrap is a lot faster and you get more money.

once tm is back up ragni hat scrapping its preatty poggers ngl, it dosen't have the lr risk and you don't need specialized gear for it.

Actually, because the trade market is down people are desperate for scrap and are willing to pay more for it (when it was up people payed like 11-12 e per and now they’re willing to pay like 14 e per). If you are a post on the forums people are sure to buy it!

 

i don't know how good it is later game but under level 40 crafting weapons and selling to the blacksmith makes a lot of money
