Art Wynncraft Pixelart Phase 2: Legendaries + Lunar Spine

I have decided to skip straight over to legendaries. Over the last week of making this, I realized that making legendaries were a lot more fun than making mythics. They were easier as I didn't have the pressure of making the most powerful weapons in the game, and I had more creativity due to the legendaries having easy lore or influences. Overall, I had a blast making these. I hope you enjoy their designs as much as I did making them.

Orange Lily
Since the dungeon weapons don't have lore, I had to go off of name alone. This is also the first sprite that wasn't at a 45 degree angle. Hope it doesn't bother you too much. You'll see a repeating pattern of CUR dungeon weapons having their respective flowers.

Royal Hydrangea
One of my favorites. The royal hydrangea is an absolutely spectacular looking flower. It was pretty easy to make this, as half the work was already done for me by the flower design.

Black Amaranth
Actually one of the harder ones as the black amaranth is an absolutely atrocious looking flower. However, I was inspired to make the speartip out of the strange tentacles. The rest of the design flowed out from there. From the time of writing this, I actually made this a few minutes ago.
Yellow Rose
Both underwhelming in sprite and in the game. I don't really like this one, and I don't plan on improving it. This ugly looking sprite is fitting for an absolutely terrible weapon.

Forest Aconite
The blade is a bit funky but that's ok. Nothing much to say here, the crossguard is made of the Forest Aconite flower itself and the blade was inspired by one of the previous inferno textures that I scrapped.

Lunar Spine
A fan favorite legendary, and I had to do it justice. The wand itself is obviously inspired by a human spine, and the orb in the center was inspired by the moon itself. It's a blue moon.

Nepta Floodbringer
Also one of my favorites. The rune in the center is of the Uth rune, which is included in the lore. Overall, I didn't deviate too much from the original water weapon skin, but I included the effects. I think the effects alone gives this weapon a high tier in my favorites list.

Zephra Shredder
Personally I don't like it, but a lot of my friends do. Like nepta before, the Uth rune is inscribed onto the weapon and is in the altered color of the element that it deals damage with. Zephra Shredder is nostalgic, I remember the pre 1.19 days when I ran around with a perfect Zephra Shredder and thought it was the coolest weapon in the game.

Thrunda Ripsaw
Kinda looks like a chainsaw to me. The creation of this was easy, as all I had to do was create cool designs around the Uth rune inscribed in the center. This is also one of my favorites.

Alka Cometflinger
One of my least favorites from this collection. Honestly it looks like a toy crossbow, and unlike Thrunda Ripsaw which also looks like a toy, this one doesn't have any cool effects. Maybe I'll remake it in the future, Alka Cometflinger is also a nostalgic weapon to me.


I will make more legendaries in the future. Expect the next post to include the Hive master weapons and MAYBE the EO dungeon weapons. Maybe. After that, I plan to make sprites of Black, Cluster, Gale's Force, Torrential Tide, Cryoseism, maybe ignition, maybe hellstrand, maybe cascade, maybe event horizon, and maybe Morrowind. Nah, just referring to Kindled Orchid- Orchids have myriad meanings including love, purity, and friendship.

 

Some ideas: Do the zodiac armors or the Qira armors

 

I was debating doing armors, but maybe in another collection. In truth, the only reason why I haven't done them already ( mythic boots) is because
1. They're hard to make
2. I feel like they wouldn't be as cool as the weapons
3. I want to maintain the illusion that endgame players don't look like the "custom characters in a cutscene" memes where it's just a guy with all sorts of wacky clothes and appearances. In all reality, wynn players ALL look like that (except for set armors, I might actually make morph or ornate shadow later).

 

Set items would also be cool.
Oooooh how about the LI accessories?
Or the EO and dungeon items?

 

Accessories are interesting to make. Yes, I will do EO dungeon weapons. MAYBE expect LI accessories.

 

I feel like the biggest issues with Alka Cometflinger are that the limbs on it already look like they’re in a drawn back position even though the crossbow is in a rest position, and the string is too far back for a recurve crossbow; in a resting position it should probably be on the Uth rune. Both of those reduce the tension the string carries and in turn the amount of kinetic energy the bowstring can transfer to its bolts, which is probably why it feels like a toy crossbow. It wouldn’t really be able to actually shoot that effectively as-is. In addition, the barrel should probably be longer than the limbs are wide, or at the very least the should be about the same. I’d extend the barrel and reposition the limbs and bowstring so the string rests on top of the rune.

Also, did you know you can just buy a crossbow? Like right now?

 

Interesting. So I'll redesign it to be more realistic, to make it feel like it could actually shoot a bolt. Crossbows aren't that hard to manufacture, so I would assume you could always buy a crossbow at any time. This is useful information for reasons.

I assumed Royal Hydrangea was for how he was basically ruling troms, and dying lobelia was for how he was kicked out, but still, reading the names of the dungeon items in order feels like it perfectly sums up Slykaar himself.
