A Possible Explanation On Why There's So Many New Hsb Players, And A Psa

Wynn has historically always drawn players from HSB, me and MH99 included. This thread seems to have caused an influx of new players.

PSA part: while some people may think Wynn is better than HSB, myself included, constant trashing on the game will get you nowhere. You can criticize it, but at some point it's gonna turn into targeted harassment.

In addition, if you see any HSB players coming in, help them out! Answer their questions, and point them towards the right direction!

I read through the whole post.
I am honestly surprised how many people tried Wynncraft. On the other hand they said several not nice things, but aren't we doing it too?

 

Ngl HSB is not that bad... if we remove the toxic grind that involves tryhards competing for your zealots, tarantulas, and even trees (IMO, the fact that the Devs did nothing to remedy the tarantula slayer stealing minibosses issue after a year feels kinda disappointing, it feels like they support this behavior as part of the game, and people actually actively defend stealing minibosses, what the heck). I personally enjoyed the game quite a bit for a few months when I didn’t really have that much to do on Wynn (other than professions).

HSB is designed so that you get that feeling of becoming successful as long as you remain “diligent”, and not determined too much by other real world factors like actual skill or luck (just follow a guide, do the grind, and it pays off eventually, I think pretty much all grindy video games operates that way to a certain extent). As such it is actually pretty addicting, and most can’t quite quit because they already spent so much time into it. And people probably spend that much time in it at the first place since no one will recognize you as a non-early/mid game player until you put in at least a couple hundred hours. (Which is, kinda a class divide of some sort, on their forums at least)

Anyways, point being that HSB is not that bad. Their forums and the perhaps esteemed / proud players are typically the stem of the toxicity. If you go ingame, I twice dropped my Aotd at the start of my dungeon runs, and those two times got it returned, by two randos I never met. A lot of dungeon parties I joined are actually quite okay, and fishing parties are often the chillest place to be. It is the ugliest that are often the loudest in the game.

 

I second this. I still somewhat enjoy my time in HSB bc of the amazing people I met like Quaglet and MH99

 

hsb has gotten boring , hsb is practically doomed if the admins dont do something

 

Hsb is really fun. I play it a lot, but it’s a lot grindier than wynncraft. I mean, you can spend so many hours and days to get just the tiniest stats boosts, which seems kinda pointless. I just play it casually and don’t grind like crazy.

on a more serious note, it's nice to see so many of them actually trying wynn out, and i can assure you that us welcomers will do our best to help them get started

 

It’s just the current endgame population getting burnt out and bored and since Wynncraft is highly acclaimed to the be superior MMORPG, a lot of people start playing out of curiosity.

Also YouTubers/famous people like Leocthl, Furball and STRAFFE started playing wynncraft, others joined in as well to see what’s it all about.

At least that’s what I think it is from my perspective

I completely forgot the forums lmao (I used to have 1400 messages) and I used to be somewhat addicted to HSB up till mid July. Wynncraft is so much better, and the best part about Wynncraft is that it doesn't get addicting. The quests are designed so you should take time to finish them all, and they make it so you don't spend too much time on there.

Hey thats my thread wow. Also that kinda was the goal I thought wynncraft was underated and much better than hsb but I thought it was also funny that it was the first post I saw on this forum
