    so if i have like 10 earth def will i take 10 less earth dmg and so on?

    I think so, yeah. about 80% sure that an elemental defense value is equal to the flat damage reduction you'll take from that element. Only 80% though.

    He means that he is 80% sure
    Anyways Druser has confirmed that it affects the raw amount of damage you take, meaning the more hits you deal/take, the more ele defs will matter.
    They typically don't matter on your own equipment though as Druser has famously also confirmed
