Some time ago, I was casually exploring the Ocean for secrets and lore details. As I was happily teleporting my way near the Corkus coast, I came by something peculiar.

    2020-12-12_11.04.49.png

A mysterious wooden, overgrown platform in the middle of the Ocean. I found an Avos head on it, which made sense, as the platform was near Avos territory. I wrote down the find, and proceeded to explore more. Soon enough, I located two more platforms northeast of the first one.

    2020-12-12_11.17.20.png

One was in the middle of the Ocean, and one was near the Gavel coast. Both had different coloured banners, yellow and blue respectively. I recalled similar platforms appearing in the Wynncraft OST Youtube video thumbnails, but that was it. As I pondered the mystery regarding these platforms, I realized that they were infact in a (nearly) straight line leading from Avos territory coast to Gavel.

Unfortunately, this was all that I managed to find out at that moment, and I left the matter be for a while.

Cut to nearly three weeks after, with me playing on my new Ironman Assassin. I was at Nemract, planning to go to Selchar. At that moment, I thought to myself: "Hmm, I have never used the Underwater Route. There's even a level 30 loot cave for me to grab on an island while I'm at it, so I will go to Selchar using a boat this time."

As I rowed onwards towards Selchar, I passed by something that suprised me. Finally, I had found the fourth platform.

    2021-01-03_12.11.55.png

This one differed from the others in a way that there was no roof on it. I continued to Selchar, and started searching for more platforms on the Online Map. Soon enough, I found the fifth and seemingly final platform right next to Selchar.

    2021-01-03_12.43.40.png

I looked through every corner of the Online Map, but found no traces of other platforms. Once again, I connected the spots, this time with with two straight lines aligned with the platforms, and what do I find:

    oceanlines.jpg

    REVERSE WYNNIC E. HOLY SHIT.

they also happen to cross at Galleon's Graveyard but who cares about that

This was it: I felt like I had finally solved the mystery of the platforms. The shape seemed a bit odd to be something that points at GG, so I thought, that maybe, just maybe there is a slight possibility that yet one, absolutely final platform was behind the Volcanic Isles. I hopped on the Wynndata 2D map, and here's what I found:

    volcanicislesplatform.png

This must be it! A sixth platform with white banners! It was perfectly lined up with the other two I found near Selchar. I had figured out the mystery of the platforms! A cross pointing to Galleon's Graveyard. I instantly sailed to the Volcanic Isles to check out my final platform.

    it was a fucking boat.

thanks for coming to my ted talk, goodbye.

perhaps. there have not been many records of fucking boats in the wynncraft world (people tend to use normal boats), so i can't tell yet. i will look into the subject when i have the time.

tbh that does strengthen the connection to GG. memes aside, i still think that they form a (half) cross pointing to the dungeon.

That fucking boat is the best fucking boat.

On a more serious standpoint for lore, I have a feeling like they could be used as checkpoints by most sailors, so Ocean secret discoveries for them could work, and maybe even the Avos used them as checkpoint platforms to prevent themselves from drowning from being tired from flight.

Maybe the avos used to use it to travel to gavel and selchar, but they were raided by the pirates and lost access to them? Considering the proximity to GG and the avos heads and pirate cutlasses that used to be there it's possible. They also seem like they haven't been repaired/cleaned in a while.

My theory is that since they use Avos materials and both converge near Avos territory, they were constructed by the Avo and used as rest stops when they tried to fly over the sea. Later, they were used by pirates as watchtowers out on the open ocean, explaining the Pirate cutlass junk item once found on them. The Avos stopped using these when they realised that humans and villagers existed. The Gavellian decay probably stopped their nature magic from working so they gave up on Gavel as a province and moved on to Wynn when suddenly the tides were disturbed by the power of the Abysso Galoshes. This put a stop to their exploration once and for all and is why there is some kind of wet moss on the bottom of them.

Alternatively, they were artificial rest stops made by human pirates while the tide was high which explains how they were built.

I prefer the avos theory though. I always wondered ''maybe the bird tribes in the mesa worshipped the avos because they thought they were gods of some kind''. Maybe some Avos fell out of the sky and wound up in the mesa where they flew to far off plateaus and evolved into Condors?

To further my theory that these are Avos structures, near where the path ends there are a few floating islands at Jofash docks with... ruins on them.
    hmm.PNG
These floating isles don't look right.. As we should know, there is some sort of magical field in CoTL and Ahms that keeps land suspended in the air. A magical force. It's possible that these islands were afloat BEFORE the Ahms colossus sent the region into the void. Lifted from the ground by magic. The Avos came and found these, thinking ''Perfect, high ground that wingless intruders can't get to'' and built houses there. Once they realised that the Decay was preventing their nature magic from working, they abandoned these houses and let them fall into ruin, heading the opposite direction towards Wynn to see if they could establish a colony elsewhere.
Unfortunately, although Nemract is within flying range of the closest pillar to it, there are no Avos ruins in the area. It's possible that the Avo saw low ground and humans living there and decided ''Maybe colonial expansion isn't something we need'' and left forever.

Here's a nice map I made of how the Avo could've gone about exploring the ocean
    Avoterritorymap.PNG
(I had a better version but it was too big for the forums to handle so i zoomed in a bit
    Red line: Avo flight path
    Green dot: Rest stop
    Purple line: Low land
    Light blue line: High land
    Blue circle: Formed colony
Green tick: Seen by avo explorers
Red cross: Not seen by avo explorers

I'm assuming the reason they didn't set up a colony in Maro peaks because they realised just how treacherous of a place it was and how annoying it would be to build there. Plus, there's no dirt so they would be unable to grow trees.

I found another area with what seems to be a ruined avo colony??? it's near corkus, maybe an experiment by said avos as to how well a colony on the low land would work
    smallerterritory.PNG
I went to check it out and it's totally a ruin of some sort. It seems to have been used by a later human civilization there. I don't even know if it's an avo ruin, but it's some kind of old building alright
If only the Avos had tried moving to the ground sooner. Maybe they'd have formed the Avos Empire and ruled over the seas

Take all of this with a grain of salt because it's all just a theory and none of it has been confirmed by the CT. Plus, the Avos didn't exist yet when any of this stuff was added so maybe it's all just a big coincidence.

If you're referring to those five islands marked there, I have been there, and they are very human-like. I doubt they were made by the Avos. The Avos theory could work, though I personally still think the platforms are pirate-related. I remember someone guessing on the discord that they could be the ships sunken by Redbeard, but once again, we don't have many resources to work on this theory.
