Loot Chest Level Requirements

Hey guys,

So I've been doing a lot of low-level loot runs lately with my high-level character. I noticed that when I used the high-level character in a low-level area, I would get basically no gear, only emeralds, potions, and ingredients. But when I would use a character that matched that area's level, I'd actually get gear.

I've heard that loot chests always spawn gear that matches that area's level if you're above that level, but my findings don't match this.

Does anyone else have this problem? Or is this behavior not normal?

And no, it's definitely not bad luck. I opened over 100 chests in the Ragni area with my high-level character, and only got 2 pieces of gear.

That happens to me too and I think it is a bit strage, but I have no idea whether it is intended

 

Happens to me to. Probably as a way to prevent higher level players from taking advantage of easily accescessing low level gear when it comes to lootrunning, that would make it too easy.

 

Now I'm not positive on this, but I'm pretty sure I've seen that this is something they're addressing in the 1.20 update.

 

I find it odd, but I guess it's probably to stop later-game players from getting earlier-game items.
