Serious Difference Between P2w And Breaking The Eula, And Bad Arguments

So I'm just here to say what makes a game p2w and if it breaks the mc EULA

P2w does not necessarily mean pay to win. it can also mean pay for advantage, to progress, etc. This does mean stuff like bombs and mob totems are in fact p2w, even if it helps the community.

The EULA states that servers cannot have p2w mechanics if it is pvp. If it is pve, it won't break the EULA. However, this does not mean a game can't be p2w if it is pve. However, if a pvp server has p2w mechanics but doesn't effect pvp mechanics, it won't break the EULA.

Things that show a server is pvp is if it has leaderboards or fighting, as these are competitve mechanics and therefore pvp.

Below I have compiled the most idiotic arguments that a certain game isn't p2w that I have ever seen. Enter at your own risk.

Spoiler: Bad arguments

"You can't win in [insert server] so it's not p2w"
"[insert server] is pve so it can't be p2w"
If you go further, I am 100% sure you will lose brain cells

"Just buy a rank"
"It's just [insert price]"
"Just get a job"

This is true however I'd like to point out that this doesn't count under Mojang's EULA as p2w

this is why stuff like bombs on wynn and Network Boosters on hypixel are allowed, since they don't just affect you

If it was a double XP bomb that only activated for you, that would be considered p2w under mojang's EULA, but it would be alright because it's used in a PVE sense.

Actually, the leaderboards might be p2w. Becuase better ranks get more class slots, thus allowing them to reach higher score that non-rank players

 

Could you expand? I don't understand how more class slots result in higher scores

 

There are categories "All" on the website. Levels of combat/professions/all on either single or all classes. Ranks have more class slots, meaning they can have higher total level
