[poll] Community Trade Market Bot

The idea has been thrown around multiple times in the community but it doesn't seem like anyone made a bot or the bot was never introduced to the community. I want to change this.

Firstly, before I go into details, would you guys (and the community) want a bot like this to exist?
Since it would not replace the ingame market, but still improve on the quality of trading I don't (currently) see any negative effects this bot would cause. Moderation for the bot would exist, possibly including Wynn mods (more about moderation in the form below).

If you have made this far in the thread, you are probably interested. I have made a list of features I think are necessary for the bot, however I would love to hear your suggestions.

Personally I'm against a person or a group of people having external influence over the market (how insignificant that influence that may be doesn't matter). I want the only people that can have influence over the market to be the admins and the moderator team. Some examples of this may be:
1) Sharpening player awareness over item prices so an items price becomes more stable
2) Making it easier to circulate more rare collectibles and thus decreasing/increasing the price caused by the knowledge of the supply of that certain collectible
etc.
So this would be a no from me dawg.

 

I agree with that no person should have external control over the market except the admins however, I don't see how the bot would do it. It's purpose is to just to connect buyers with sellers and make trading easier. People would still have to talk to each other and make the trade themselves. Also, I believe there are communities that currently influence the market far more and in a worse way any trade bot would.

 

It's also a bit of a bias google forms survey as after the first question you HAVE TO answer every question as if you love the idea. But thank you for taking the time to create it nonetheless

too easily manipulated IMO, even if you aren't doing it with malicious intent it could turn into something bad extremely easily.

 

Maybe just a market API that simply shows and tracks the prices of items.

 

whether or not the larger wynn community as a whole is in support or not, if bolyai plans to move further with this, it will be added to the lootrunners discord. no eta on anything of course but if you want an invite hmu

People talk about someone having some sort of nebulous "control" over the market by doing this but don't say anything about what that control could be...

Like what? There's no way to ensure that a higher up won't do this because it's a decision, not an accident.

 

The first thing is making it open source. Then I assume there are ways to check if the code running the same as on github.
