Is There A Reason The Game Doesn't Have Chain Death Prevention?

    I can think of several ways off the top of my head to prevent repeated afk deaths, but none are implement currently. Is there a coding reason to it or something?

    There's no coding problem, the entire death system is custom.

    Then do you know why they haven't implemented it yet? It's been suggested tons of times

    Since its a developer thing to implement it might not be on the highest priority? I imagine it would take at least a few hours since they would be modifying old code written by someone else. Maybe they might in a patch after 1.20's full release, but right now bugfixing is the top priority so they can get the update out.
