Wynncraft Speedrunning????

What's that you may ask.

It's like power-leveling,

But on steroids.


I've already completed 3 speedruns and hold the record for 1-100 and 1-105
here's the most recent speedrun

It's also verified on speedrun.com which is pretty cool.

How is this possible? 24 minutes to get lvl 100? This normally takes me days!

Spoiler: Armor and accessories

Practically all the gear in the run is crafted. For the higher level armor. It's made with an ingredient called "lucky rabbit's foot." An ingredient that gives plus 3 to 8 xp bonus. Since that's such a huge range, the gear was crafted many many times until we got a good roll. The accessories are made with a combination of ancient coins and aged medallions. The range is smaller on this gear, but still crafted a lot to reach almost maximum xp bonus.

Spoiler: Consumables

There are 4 different types of consumable xp (3 of them are crafted):
-Crafted potions
made with weakening catalysts
-Wisdom potions
these can be bought from merchants and found in chests
-Crafted food
made with dried gills
-Crafted scrolls (explained later)
made with adventurer's diaries

Well the first half of the speedrun is pretty self-explanatory: stack up a bunch of xp bonus and go to a grind spot, hit mob, stack walk speed, run to another grind spot, hit lvl 65 then run to forgery.

Spoiler: How can I 1 shot the mobs at lvl 1 without any damage gear?

Crafted scrolls, made by leveling up the scribing profession.
When you craft a scroll, any player, any level, will receive the buffs from the scroll.
This means I can get a friend that's level 105 to use high level scrolls on me as a low leveled player giving me insane buffs like tons of mana regen, tons of health, xp bonus, and tons of damage.
Most of the scrolls are made by putting 6 of the same ingredient and t2 materials which mostly consisted of the different types of auras found in lvl 80-90 areas.

The second half is where it gets interesting...
We got to the forgery, a place where you can complete dungeons without needing to finish any quests.

We then proceed to complete 3 dungeon runs to get to lvl 100.
With dungeons, there is some un-avoidable bug people have called "overflow xp"

Spoiler: Overflow xp

No one really knows how this works, but we can speculate.
We think that the game has some sort of issue calculating how much xp you need to be given after finishing a dungeon or it doesn't give the right amount of xp bonus. The only thing that we know that can affect it is being closer to leveling up and having as much xp bonus as possible

Overflow xp allows us from lvl 65 to 85 in 1 corrupted decrepit sewers run.
Then 85 to 95 in 1 corrupted underworld crypt run.
And finally, 95 to 102 in 1 corrupted undergrowth ruins run.

To go higher than 100, we just complete more corrupted undergrowth ruins runs.

They all had an important role to play in the speedruns and I couldn't have done it without any of them <3

Closing statement:
1.20 is coming out soon and will shift the speedrunning meta. Things like weakening catalysts are getting nerfed in their xp and the forgery has been completely redone. New strategies will be developed and new runners will appear and I'm excited to see where it goes.

Who knew there was a niche inside of a niche. O_O

 

Wow! I prefer ironman 1-25 as they're not dependent on groups and prep, but these are cool too.
