I have made another thread stating possible solutions to the inflation, but most replies to it were along the lines of "This is gonna die down soon you're overthinking it". However, it's becoming increasingly apparent it's not gonna die down in a few days, so I've decided to take a more in depth look at it.
    1. Just roll with it
More effective than you might think. At the beginning of the 20th century, a penny could buy you an entire bag of candy. Now, it's nearly worthless. While this is definitely a very extreme amount of inflation in a short time, rolling with it would hurt most of the playerbase who didn't dupe, but with a few changes like making lq gear cheaper, buffing other money making methods, or buffing quest reward emeralds this is definitely at least somewhat doable
    2. Rollback
Another commonly suggested change. While it would certainly work, a rollback to the market would change almost nothing and a rollback to the bank and inventory would harm many players (Including me, who found a Thrundacrack 3 days ago), and quite possibly cause them to quit the game and hurt Wynncraft in general.
    3. Forcefully shock the market with supply/demand
In this solution, the admins either forcefully reprice existing overpriced items, buy out the overpriced items, or flood the market with supply to encourage competition. However, this would involve direct market manipulation on the admins' part, something that could go terribly wrong easily. In addition, the problem of dupers having tons of LE also still exists, meaning it's very probable it could start inflating again at a rapid rate.
    4. A more manual option
This is a last ditch resort where the admins straight up announce "Any players listing items for unreasonable prices will be warned/banned". However, it's difficult to define unreasonable price, innocent players could be banned, and many people would complain about unfair decisions on the part of the admins.
These are all the ideas I have right now. If you have some more feel free to state them

I'm not very good at economics, so I want to ask some questions: wouldn't it work if they set some kind of cap on the amount of LE one person may own? Like if someone tried to put more than, say, 100 stacks in their bank, it simply wouldn't accept it? Or what if you multiplied the money gotten from chests and mobs, then later divide all money by a certain amount to get the value back down without making people poor?

That wouldn't work for many reasons
    1. Some people are just uber rich normally, so that would be like cutting their networth in half
    2. Dupers don't have lots of money, it's just that a lot of wealth is shared between 15% of the playerbase, meaning it's not like a few people have a ton of money

Price capping was tried when we moved to the new item system. In the old one trading collectables was common but it died down until after gavel. All at once a lot of items became collectables as they couldn't be gotten in game in anyway other than buying them from a player. The item capping didn't work and was bypassed easily by auctions.

Problem with just rolling with it is because outside of the dupe, players aren't getting any more le. Peoples wages generally went up with the inflation u̶n̶t̶i̶l̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶y̶ ̶d̶i̶d̶n̶t̶ . But players who didn't do the dupe aren't getting any more le. if the admins went with it, all in game prices and all in game moneymaking methods like seavale or quests would have the be massively multiplied to compensate. 3 wont happened and is way to risky, and 4 is way too unenforceable and way too subjective. rollback is the best option imo , but they already said it wasn't happening and it would damage the server a decent amount. no real good options exist.

In an open economy, people will not store money in their pure form, because they gain no profit from spares. They can store a few stx for emergency but the rest will go to investments and/or other materials. They can, in theory, buy T3 prof items, godly items, expensive mats and use it as currency instead of surpassing 100 stx/120stx. Heck, they might buy mythics and use it purely to store money.

Not all trading is done through trade market, and for the brief minutes it’s up each day inflated items are not only put up but bought

I realize I'm too late to post on the rollback thread, but I'm 100% in agreement with Salted's reasoning.
