Assassin/Ninja Help Can Somebody Please Explain Kilij To Me?

I've gotten the item 'Kilij' on one of my assasin accouts (I'm not using it though) and it seems a bit... interesting....

I've looked through every single stat, id, and the powder slots, on wynndata and I can't seem to figure it out. It seems to have some interesting gimmick but I can't figure out what it is.

It's "have high tier powder = gud, not = bad"

I didn't design Kilij, but it's meant to be a melee-focused powder weapon. The thunder damage is there to discourage stacking T6 thunders on it like is often done on other low level weapons with many slots by players on second playthroughs. It's meant to encourage stacking of either earth or air powders instead (which is pretty much the only unique thing about it besides its looks), and benefits a lot from raw melee on your armour as well as an attack tier or two, but not % melee.

 

Problem is, you can't get many tiers at that level, so while it does have the powder slots to run full elemental coverage plus a powder special, it doesn't really have anything else going for it.

Edit: I underestimated Kilij fast rm a bit, see my post downthread. It's usable, though I'm not sure I would recommend it.

 

It's more a "Use Raw with this" type weapon. The amount of raw melee it gives puts its DPS above average if you get a good roll, as well as powder usage allowing its damage to recoup.

 

If you were to run fast rm at-level, I'd probably do either Scalpel or Ghostly Blades - the latter gets 4/5 elemental coverage and some nice extra stats but you have to invest in Int, while the former gets nice health sustain stats. As for gear, if you want to go at it, I'd do something like Outlaw Helm, Erratio, Seismic Chaps, Gypsum, double Uriel or Ehwaz, Favian's Wing if you can find it, and maybe Durum's Serenity (which is a point for Ghostly Blades, I'd probably favor that over Scalpel).

The actual best use of Kilij is stacking high-tier Earth powders - T4 or higher gives it comparable to slightly higher base damage than Hashr Claw equivalently powdered, making it a formidable spell weapon despite the penalty, albeit not as busted as Hashr Claw. It's possible to use Kilij in fast rm, and it's okay there, but imo not really worthwhile.

I used Mummy's Rag for one of them to get it to superfast attack speed and sawdust on the other for better walk speed.
You could also probably use Precious and Criistal.
