    it doesn't imo, -1 bomb cost and virtue of being a water mythic is good enough for me

    firstly, could we not run single-weapon wd comparisons? they're incredibly misleading about actual viability
    even if the crafted is stronger in practice, it's not a valid reason to make spring flatten the entire non-crafted meta
    it either warrants a nerf against the crafted or the situation should just be left as is
    being worse than a crafted does not make spring a bad mythic

    due to how damage is calculated and all that nonsense looks can be deceiving when the item is used in a build. In these garbage water slaps spring does about 100 less but has 1 bomb cost instead of 2.
    That said I personally agree crafted springs are an issue in their current state as they can outdamage spring and are not locked out of twa which is generally the most powerful archetype for water archer as well as twf and etw. However this is more of an issue with the crafteds them selves as opposed to spring. Look at crafted water weapons for mage and shaman. While crafted wands can outdamage lament people don't opt for it because lament has unique utility that crafteds cannot provide (insane heal costs, high heals, and tons of mana steal). Hadal is its own monster as its basically a heavy spell item that crafteds cannot mimic, while you can out dps hadal with lower cost spells you aren't gonna mimic that heavy spell playstyle with a crafted. Similar can be said with idol and nivana due to idols insane raw spell/charge cost and nirvana's major id however I find water crafting with weaponsmithing to be generally weaker. But I think that the crafting issue for spring is that high mana with high spell/water damage is way to easy to get. Like the fact you can get mana and water damage in the same ingredient is going to cause some serious competition for any weapons based purely on mana and water damage, like spring. Spring in itself doesn't have the unique utility or playstyle gimmicks that the other water mythics have aside from the -1 bomb cost, which while very powerful is not always enough to justify its use over crafteds. Like take a crafted spring on twf and you probably will have 1 mana bombs anyways. Post patch crafted spring on etw it probably won't be too difficult to find a way to get 1 mana bombs as well. My point is that spring lacking its own unique identity combined with mana/water damage being so easily accessible on crafteds is the problem. Buffing the damage on spring or giving it -3 bomb cost would not in anyway help the problem, the only thing that would help would be to give it something different to make it more unique.
    Now if you want my opinion on what that should be I think spring should get a major id of some sort to spice up the gameplay while not having to rework it from the ground up.

    19mr with 1/1 costs nice build
    a more standard ewx shows spring does more damage than the crafted

    -1 bomb cost gives spring effectively 7mr assuming 6cps, which far surpasses any non-crafted and beats crafted by a decent margin
    it changes building style since you lose the need for mr items

    slapping major id as one's solution is fine in theory but you'd need an actual major id suggestion that isn't literal garbage for this to work

    Friendly reminder crafteds are broken on wynndata when you use powders as ingredients and then also powder the weapon, in reality the base damage will actually be quite a bit higher ingame

    Iiif yall are wondering...

    We tested with the 10% damage value, and for most things it was fine! There was only a couple of problems, and those problems were called Arrow Storm and Multihits.

    Spells that hit multiple times break this ID wide open, just flat-out. We discussed for a while, and eventually we came to the conclusion that we can't balance Explosive Impact around use with spells. Even if we made it proc on a fixed chance(which is something we can do), it would still be way too strong on multi-hitting spells, plus it kinda misess the point of the ID... So the plan now is to change how it functions so that spells can't cause an Explosion through this Major ID only. It'll still cause normal, on-death Explosions, but Explosive Impact won't cause 60 explosions that deal a collective 500k anymore.

    Which takes dev time.

    That we don't have available at the moment.

    Until we can properly balance it, Explosive Impact is being removed from Scarlet Veil. It'll still be accessible in raid buffs- though since people have complained about those, that even may be subject to change. Sorry about the confusion- I know I'm disappointed about this, but...

    Wait.. What? IMs have NERFED an item that I LIKED. WHAT. This has gone TOO FAR. They took our power slaps, we were silent. They took our freedom, we were silent. They took our absos, we were silent. Now we CANNOT stay silent any longer. We must face these biases head on. This is an ATTACK to our MORALS and VALUES. We cannot keep this facade of nothing going on any longer. How DARE the IMs nerf this item. Did they not care at all? Have they thrown away all morals? I pray for the day where you can go out, double mythic on, and not need to fear a nerf. Society is advancing, and nerfs are no longer needed. It is time for IMs to do the same, or we will...

    is it possible to make it so each spell procs exploding once regardless of its hit count? if it's not feasible then the current plan is cool too

    personally i would like amount of potential procs per spell to scale w/ attack speed so fast melee/hybrid explo impact isn't strictly worse than slow.

    edit: another idea is to put a hard cap on number of explosions per spell (i think having above 1 isn't terribly unbalanced, because i believe all classes have at least one multi-proc spell, assuming shaman totem aoe and burning ground proc: multihit/smoke bomb, war scream, totem passive aoe, meteor burning ground, arrow storm/arrow shield), but have the damage scale based off attack speed, such as in a super slow build, each explosion deals some low amount of damage, like 7-12% or w/e, and super fast speeds deal higher amounts, like 20-22% (these are total guess estimates no idea what would be balanced). current cancelstack probably makes super fast op here, but cancelstack items as a whole are getting nerfed, and i'd imagine it would be possible to nerf items just for their cancelstack-based uses.

    just gonna say burning ground really shouldn't count

    also most spell mage drops a meteor immediately after the initial hit for dps efficiency

    My theory was that spell mage wouldn’t really be using explosive impact. I kind of assumed it would be a generic melee build, but spells were casted to proc explo impact
