1.20 Hero Beta Checklist

Just a quick list of stuff to test, same as I did for 1.19, goal is to be faster to read than the changelog.

• Housing
  • weird blocks/combinations
  • interactions with NPCs
  • analyze block costs
  • Build Stand - test edge cases wrt equipping builds, etc.
• Champion Rank features
  • probably test merchant booth functionality
  • pet tasks may be abusable for large-scale moneymaking, worth testing
• Pets
  • test combat functionality, especially in weird arenas and stuff
• Guilds
  • Guild XP curve
  • War mechanics
  • Cost of territories
  • Resources produced in each territory
  • Gathering xp from territories
  • other stuff? no clue lmao pls contribute
• Quests & Discoveries
  • ofc thorough testing of all new/remade quests and minor changes quests
  • total secret discoveries: 6+7+8+4+7+6+6+7
• Raid mechanics & balance
• Tomes
  • mechanics may not be straightforward-as-written, test their implementation and interactions
  • Tome slots unlocking reqs
• Forgery
  • dungeon scaling mechanics
  • Forgery Chest rates
• Major IDs
  • test exact mechanics of all new and changed Major IDs
  • also, Soulbound (seems strange, let's see how it's used)
• Professions
  • Gather IDs distribution
  • Prof XP curve
• New and changed items
• Corkian Amplifier mechanics, utility analysis
• Documentation of map changes
  • grind spots
  • caves & loot chests
• SE boss altar
  • also Selvut's contribs say "boss altar(s?)" idk if this is important
• Find out if blacksmith prices for uniques and rares really are profitable over emeralds, or just "profitable" over nothing

that's not how hero beta works

 

I'll be sure to check out any new items in dungeons as well as possible lore changes and additions to items (mythic relik lore???)

I'll also check all mythics for possible changes that werent mentioned in the IM thread changelog or the patch notes. (ahem ahem weath bug)

main things i want to do are get every secret discovery (old and new), housing and raids

 

Lore doesn't count I assume?

 

I'd rather not add it to the list since it's not a mechanics or balancing thing really, though I do intend to look into it (if no one else gets there first ofc)

 

Guilds:

• which territories give which resources

But how do we test Champion on beta

 

It'll probably release alongside the hero beta, since Salted said something about the shop this week (pretty sure the hero beta comes out this week too) and it's been said that a smaller shop update will release prior to 1.20

 

Also along with this, Salted said that even if Champion isn't available when the beta drops, he'll make sure we can test the features on the beta anyway so that he can get more feedback and see if there's anything that needs to be tweaked.

Anyone figure out how dungeon scaling works? It didnt work when I went into a corrupted dungeon at level 100

EDIT: The boss scaled to my level, but not any of the mobs.
