Are you doing professions? They aren't really profitable until endgame, but you do you :)

The important takeaway here is the massive cost. You can do them if you want, but they're really grindy, and as Ocelot said won't start being worth your while until endgame. I wouldn't recommend them for a first playthough.

Exploration is great - there are a number of caves and other hidden locations on the map that have high-tier loot chests with a lot of gear around your level in them. If you travel off the beaten path a lot, and do your best to explore weird corners of the world, you're bound to find quite a few of them.

Dungeons also usually have pretty good items that can be purchased with rewards you get from running them a few times, and no matter what you do you'll always be killing mobs, which also drops gear as Ocelot mentioned.

as someone whos done the profs mining and fishing are the easier of the 4 to get up and you probably don't want to do them unless you have a LOT of time on your hands. We are talking like 100 hours to get to level 105 for each profession and like 60 if you grind with PARTIES on and off. It can get really boring and you will get to a point of asking yourself WHY am I doing this? It's not even that profitable compared to loot running and if you want a loot set, DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT craft one yourself! Find one on the market or borrow one from your friend. I had this mindset going into profs that i was gonna "craft my own lootset" and it is taking much longer than I had anticipated doing every single prof. If you decide to do 1 or 2 profs thats fine but DO NOT DO ALL 4 UNLESS YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO.

thank you for reading my ted talk. uwu
