Steps To Being A Better Player

Alrighty, so I myself am not the best Wynn player, however I have some small things I wanna mention here. Im only giving suggestions and noting being rude in any way. This is my opinion, not a fact. This is meant to help ppl not ridicule em.

Steps to being a better player: Not a dingus

Ok so this intro is gonna be real short, but basically in my time playing this game I have noticed that some players do not know the social norms of this game, and that can get people mad at them. So this exists. XP

Step 1: (Quite obvious) BE KIND!
- For whatever reason a lot of players have forgotten to golden rule of kindness, multiple times ive seen players make fun or bully others bc they are not good at the game or are new. Cut that out, no one wants to play with a dingus. Don't make fun of someone for trying something new and failing, its rude, ya stank.

Step 2: Be patient
- Not everyone is a gamer pro at Wynn, you have to be patient with people, they are still learning or are just not better than you.

Step 3: Know what your doing
- If you help someone with anything, be it dungeons, quests, or just the game in general. Know what you are doing before you help them. If you don't, a lot of players will just get more confused and quit. (you will also be confused, and probably embarrassed lol) "please dont mislead people on purpose as well. its annoying and a dick move" -(suggestion by nuuurd)

Step 4: Research
- (This takes effect if you have already tried it once, and failed or are stuck) If you are going to attempt a dungeon you have(done once or) not done before (Cough cough EO cough), or a quest that you have no idea what is going on, PLEASE research before hand. I have seen multiple parties ask me for help with EO, then proceed to go in, get nuked, and then get mad bc they have no idea what they were doing. So please, for your sanity and those who are helping you, research first, fight second.

Step 5: Rambling
- If you failed to do step 4, don't go yelling in the chat saying how this game sucks and its too hard, then not even a minuet later ask someone to help you with the dungeon or quest. You will 100% look like a clown to anyone who is experienced in this game. Instead, try to explain what happened to someone who knows what they are doing, and ask for tips. Most likely they will tell you where to go and what to look into to beat whatever your fighting. Most experienced players( That I know of) are good people and don't mind helping you.

Step 6: Forums Posts
- I understand the occasional joke or shitpost, they can be quite funny to read or talk in. However, making a full on rant post or shitpost about how someone sucks bc they didn't help with a dungeon or quest, or how the game is cheating you, is dumb. If you have an issue, bug, or player that is causing an actual issue, talk to a mod. They are quite good at taking care of those things. Or submit a bug or player report.

Step 7: Noobs
- I 10000% understand the frustration you can get when your helping a new player and all they do is suicide on the emerald trail bc they don't move while fighting a horde. Its rage educing. Yet, you have to understand that this game is extremely new to them, and that they don't understand the rules. Noobs especially don't understand spells or soul points, and trading with other players for that matter. So please, don't get mad when a noob dies repeatedly. If it gets too frustrating, tell them you have to go do something else and you will come help later. Let yourself calm down. Another thing is(as harsh as it is), The best way to learn wynn combat is trial by fire. Lots of people learn wynn combat when they are continually being attacked and dying, then they learn how to fight back and not die. Also bc they are super low lvl they don't lose much on death. So its not much of a loss.

Step 8: Having Fun
- If your overall not having fun with Wynn, and feel like your giving your life away for lvls. Stop. You can freely play anything you want, don't feel obligated by a guild, lvls, or cool items to play the game every day. If you don't feel like playing, then don't. If its not fun, its not worth it.

That's all I could think of for this post. If anyone has some suggestions on what to add or change please tell me so we can use this as a good way to tell new players how the social standards work.

I would like to note here that this takes away a lot of suprises, effectively ruining the game.

Think of it as someone spoiling you the ending of you most favourite game (that is not Wynncraft of course) just so that "you will be somewhat prepared".

Fair point. I would say this would take effect if you already tried it once and failed. The reason I put that in there is bc alot of times ppl get murked by players who dont know what they are doing. Ill add a thing for it tho

I would recommend it only if they are stuck. (with few exceptions like the Eye, CoW or ToA)

The hardest thing in Wynncraft isn't LI or EO, it's trying to explain to the lvl 3 assassin why they can't use that lvl 7 bow they found.

I'm level 70 and just figured out how identification works when i downloaded wynntils
not sure how i missed that one tbh
