Whenever I look up tips for professions, ill always get the answer that I really should not bother until end game.

    Why is that?

It is a MASSIVE GRIND. I don't recommend doing them at all, but if you really wanto do them after you have finished all quests.

grind to lv.10 is not that bad

    a buch of effort

Identified items are still better and they do not interrupt the gameplay that much (like you want to do more quest but you need gear -> lootchests or professions. What is better?)

Just wanted to second this and add that professions are basically a noob trap, they're presented to the player as if it was something you should do over the course of leveling a character but they offer nothing of value unless you put 100+ hours into it.

Also, even if pre-endgame crafted items were as good as identified items (which they aren't 9/10 times), you don't actually need good gear or a well thought out build until you get to the late endgame anyways. Random drops and quest gear are more then enough to make it to level 100+ and when you get there the top priority should probably be to make a nice build and run dungeons and stuff, not run around in loops for hours to make a small number slightly larger.

Also, durability. For a newer player, this is going to be an issue; making gear with more durability is more expensive, and even gear with *high* durability can break relatively quickly. It also is rather expensive to repair constantly for a new player (it's not very expensive, but if you actually buy ingredients to make it worth using, you'll definitely be losing a noticable sum between that and repairs), is far more likely to become unusable during updates (literally unusable, not just bad or no longer fitting within your build) and still is typically weaker than gear you'd find normally unless you spend a lot on materials and ingredients.

But what if I am willing to put the effort into it? Is it still not worth it? or I am just insane

Small correction, crafted items at level using T2 materials and sometimes even T1 materials are usually better than those of identified items. This is mainly because of the flexibility that crafted items give. Obviously T3 are even better. This applies to all levels, except maybe barring some mythics/niche items.

    ------------------------------------

Yes professions are irrelevant early to midgame as most players are usually endgame. However said, they can supplement your gear if you happen to be missing some pieces. Do be warned that it will take quite a bit of grinding to get there in comparison to lootrunning.

Levels 1-60 aren't that bad to grind assuming great efficiency (2-3 hours without bombs), but most new players won't know how to maximize efficiency especially on their first playthrough. Thus, as many people above had advised, do not do professions on your first playthrough.

If you really want to use early to midgame gear through professions, you can try out craftsman. Or better yet, HIC(H) :).
    ________________________________
Some niche players like me like to be one of the top profers, and thus grind out to max every single profession. Others want to grind to be able to craft their own gear without having to rely on other people to craft it for them. Materials can be expensive for the average new player, so grinding out gathering professions helps save them money in the long run, assuming they are willing to shell out a minimum of 8 hours with bombs to get to lv 100+.

Others are in it for the money. Professions are a great alternative for getting money, especially since it is often much more reliable than lootrunning. They usually make their money through selling T3 lv 110 materials, but they can also make their money through bulk selling ingredients gathered from mobs and crafting using T1/2 materials to sell to the blacksmith. They can also make their money through crafting LQ/LB/niche gear.

Soon, many more players may try to get into this market with the introduction of Gathering XP/Speed ingredients in 1.20.

I grind scribing just because xp scrolls are stonks. Let me tell you it is a grind just to get up to a decent level. I'm lv60, aiming for 80 and I still struggle because every scroll gives me 2% xp and cost 4 goddamn woods and oils. Yes I can use materials but everytime I grind mats I want to punch myself because I spent 30m for like 20 6-ingredients scrolls or even less.

Are you using ingredients? 2% xp per craft sounds like you are not... It should be more like 20% or more.

I hate professions but I voted "no".
Why? Because they are very useful in the early game too! I love doing professions in the early game because you can craft really useful items. You can for example craft a ring with +12 walk speed at crafting lvl 3 with 100 durability (Edit: and it is verrrry cheap)
    (lvl 1 - lvl 20)

If you want to experience the main content that Wynn is (e.g. quests, dungeons, bosses), then don’t do profs. It will take up all of your time.

Some observations about the discussion so far:
    1) It isnt easy, especially to newer player, to take advantage of prof bombs because of how quickly prof worlds get full. I personally quitted proffing because i coudnt stand spending so much time in the lobby clicking into the prof world hoping i could get on.
    2) there are some quite nice items you can craft early/mid game, but it all seems in vain, since to be able to craft it you need to level 2 gatherings and one crafting until the level you are at, you need to think/get good recipes and you need to gather the ingredients, which are generally a pain to grind for since many craftings use t3. And then, 10 levels later, its already an outdated item. And well, getting 10 levels in early/mid game will be way quicker than all that effort that you did to craft. Besides, just using random loot you find gets you to endgame easily already, so i feel like its unjustifiable extra effort.
