    Which is better for offensive buffs, scribing profession or cooking?

    Cooking makes you fat from eating too much so probably scribing

    Alchemy is for powerful short term buffs (couple min tops) with potions, scribing is for making scrolls which give moderate buffs to everyone in a group and food is for weak(er) long term buffs (5 min+). Chose what you want to do for buffs based on that, though based on what you said I would assume you want to make potions since scrolls are only useful when you play with a group of people.
