The Big Question About Champion

..Pricing. Obviously they wont say the price exactly already as that's still up for debate (according to Salted himself I believe), but there's one bigger question I have and I've seen many others ask that will likely be the deciding factor between me and a good few others buying it or not, yet I haven't seen any answers to it yet:

Is Champion going to be a subscription based rank?

Think about it:
So far, Champion has not a single feature shown that can't easily be removed should you lose the rank. Everything is simple QOL stuff that we've seen, with the exception being pet levels over 20 (however they're exclusively cosmetic, so little harm in a hero having a higher level pet). It makes sense that they'd jump on the subscription rank bandwagon from a profit standpoint as it's worked very well for other large servers. However, personally, I really do not like excess subscription services where possible, so I'd rather pay a slightly higher price and just not have to care about it ever again.

What's everyone's thoughts on this, as well as their preferences? Do we think a, say, $120 rank ($40 more than Hero) would be more successful/valuable or a $5-10 monthly subscription rank?

 

I would only buy Champion if it's a one time purchase, I don't play Wynncraft enough anymore to do a subscription.

 

This is the third time I'll say it: It is a one time purchase of 160$
At least I think so...
Considering the fact that every rank so far has been double the price of the last, hero being 80$, then it will be 160$.

 

Yeah I agree with this—Salted said he didn't think Champion would be super popular, so I'd assume that also means it'll be priced fairly high, but who knows for sure lol

 

I would honestly prefer a one-time payment of $120-160, preferably $120 though, it just seems more reasonable. But, I do understand the reasoning if they were to make it a subscription-based rank, as it would bring them more money and longevity with the server, I hope if they do it this way though they make it buyable for 1 Month, 3 Months, 6 Months, and 1 Year.

 

It does make sense, but doesn't $160 seem a little high for what it gives? I guess a bomb tracker is nice but it's not a crazy benefit so I'm not so sure. Hero's already a little pricey for what it offers after all imo

 

I think that having Champion rank to support the server is a good idea. Personally I don't really care too much about the perks as long as I'm supporting this server, although having said perks, y'know it's nice

I think that, like you said, Champion offers nothing that cannot be taken away. Having a subscription for the rank would definitely work. However, this would likely not appease many people and so perhaps having both an option to buy the rank and a monthly subscription would work.

As far as price goes, I'm estimating $120-160. Maybe it'll be a little bit above that, but $200 seems too high.

Yeah, but having a previous rank lowers the cost of the next one. Plus, wynncraft has sells often enough.

 

wasn't how hypixel or mp did either, subscription ranks are a new (and admittedly very profitable) thing in very popular minecrsft servers, and combined with the other reasons mentioned in the thread it has caused a good bit of worry with a lot of people it seems

 

I dont have anything against a subscription... really if they decide to make the Champion rank a subscription to get more money that supports wynncraft I have nothing to complain about that. But I dont think they add a subscription. Thats all.
