SPOILER Ideas For Champion.

(Note, I'm typing all of this on my phone, I will edit it on a later date.)
The new update is adding a new rank called champion, fun. I already made a thread addressing my concerns with the features added with Champion. The issue is I understand coming up with features with a new rank is hard, I know the team (probably mostly Salted) probably struggled to come up with ideas, so, I thought I would offer some of my own ideas.

Bomb Bell Replacment:
This was probably the most criticized issue with champion rank, and its understandable as to why. Most players will read this and assume it notifies you of when bombs go off (This could be wrong, as it has not been confirmed.)
My suggestion here is simple: Instead of notifying you, the rank gives you the option to notify everyone else on Wynn.

This is great for alot of reasons.
1. The code they developed to notify Champion players could easily be reused for this.
2. Its not pay to win, in fact, it actually helps other players more then yourself.
3. It does benefit you! It saves you money in the long run, by eliminating the need to shout in order to tell people about dungeon parties, grind parties, or simply bombs going off.


Nicknaming:
Something of note, I actual love this feature.
Its easily the least controversial thing they are adding to Champion; I actually wish to expand apon it, not suggest to change it.

My first suggestion is to allow Champion players to change the color of their names to any of the previous ranks color.

My second is to allow Champion players to add (premade) symbols to their names, sort of like the challenge mode symbols.

I think both of these are rather simple, and add a bit to an already pretty good feature.

Pet Levels:
I actually don't have an issue with the Champion exclusive pet level thing now, anything that could have been pay to win has already been explained away. However, the fact that we orginally thought it was pay to win does point out a massive flaw with it: How it displays information.

I think the issue can largely be stated like this, pet levels beyond 20 are purely cosmetic, but players have no way of knowing this unless told. (Kinda like all of us today)

You could do two things:

One is to simply add the word "cosmetic" in front of anything above level 20 on pets.

The second, and prefered one, is to add a second xp bar to pets, named "Cosmetic Level." Make it so they only Champions get Cosmetic level xp for their pets.

(On a side note, make sure you inform players somewhere that the more pets out, the lower the damage they do.)

This is all I could really come up with, I'm sure there are some more simple things, like giving them daily tier 3 crates, or a monthly shout. If anyone else has any ideas, comment them below.

 

Definitely an improvement, however I do think that /switch is still OP.

 

I didn't say this is all I would remove, I'm just suggesting somethings.

 

I don't know if people still want this, but I think being able to chose the color of the rank title to the color of previous ranks at the very least would be a great addition. That yellow banner is awful.

 

I know you are on a phone, but
If every champion turned on this feature, would it be VERY annoying because everyone is notified by every champions? Maybe only notify the people in your non-lobby servers is already fine.

 

Option, meaning each time you throw a bomb you have the option to.
Also what do you mean by lobby servers?
The game already tells you when a bomb is thrown on the server you are on, the only other up from that is every server.
Plus, no, shouts are already a thing, I don't see this being more annoying then just shouts.

What I mean is, Champs got notified when a bomb is thrown in another server right, then the whole server (Where the champ is inside) would be notified. For example:

- guy1 threw XP bombs in WC1
- guy2 (in other servers except lobby and WC1) and people in his server gets notified because he is a champion
- guy3 (in other servers WITHOUT a champ) can't get notification

It is NOT the champ who threw bombs, but others, and the champ and people in his server are notified.

I'm not sure it much matters if players agree with them, it's supposed to get the gms heads turning with alternative ideas.

I was trying to be more helpful, compared to my last thread on this.

 

Honestly my biggest issue with champion is the reserved slots, the rest of it seems pretty dope, no suggestions to give atm though.

 

Still it would be better if thwy see if the community wants it. Now it is just you and few repliers...

 

I just like being able to show my approval in ways other than a like. :)
