Howdy! I am your lovely host named Colin and as promised I am delivering to you all the monthly episode of Featured Wynncraftian!

If you're new, you might be asking yourself, what the flippity heck is Featured Wynncraftian?? Featured Wynncraftian is a monthly forum series where we feature people from the community! You do not have to be the most popular member to get featured.

Like past seasons, if you think you know someone who would be a good interviewee or is just freaking awesome, feel free to suggest them here.

@TrapinchO is a pretty cool person and you've likely seen them around on the forums or discord talking about the wiki, Wynncraft lore, or often both! With out further ado, lets get into the interview!

With the plethora of posts on the forums and discord, it’s no question that you’ve put extensive time into Wynncraft’s community project: the wiki. What led you to start contributing to the wiki?

I think it was because I had a lot of free time and I thought that the wiki needs some pages and edits it didn't have.​

What sort of edits and pages were missing and why?

Mainly Czech translation (which didn't last long) but later things like Fast Travel, The Void and improvement of old and forgotten pages.​

That’s awesome! I’m sure many of the community appreciate your hard work, I certainly do.

What kind of impact do you think the community translations have on our game?

I guess it depends on the language and the size of the community.
For example Chinese (which has quite big community) translation is probably more appreciated than Czech (which probably doesn't have its own Wynn community).

Also depends on how much is actually translated.
But since only quests are currently translated I think there are more import things to do.​

That makes sense. How do you determine the size of the individual communities? Are there threads on the forums or is exclusively through the wiki?

I assume there are nearly no Czech players because I haven't seen many.
The sizes are just assumptions though.

Sometimes thread about "asking for spanish/portugal/italian/any other player" pops up on forums, not sure what do you mean by "through wiki".​

Ah by the wiki I meant the translation teams sections of the wiki discord.

Now it would be silly of me if I didn't ask at least once about your interest (and maybe passion) in Wynncraft lore.
Is there a particular subsection of our lore (like a storyline, as an example) that stands out to you as your favorite?

About translation teams: General chats on discord are dead but each language has it own private channel, so I don't know how active they are there.

My favourite storylines are definitely the ones of Twains family and the Olm.
I also found very interesting behavior of the Decay and the Corruption​

What aspects of the Twain's family and the Olm stand out to you?

The Twains are propably so interesting because they were the only "real" wizards currently in game.
There is also a lot we do not know about them, such as their history before Marius started adopting gifter children or after the four brothers split, especially Dwendle and Rickeo.

I love Time Valley, how it is great and mysterious, holding many secrets.
Before the Economy Update there was little to no information about them, only what we got from Fate of the Fallen quest and Timeless Ruin discovery.
Even though got a bit confused about them after Silent Expanse was released, I am looking forward to more updates to their history.​

Wow I seriously had no idea the details in the lore.

Since you got some favorites, are there any parts of the lore that you don’t like very much or that you think could use some improvement?

Well, I would really like to see the fates of Rickeo and Dwendle in the future.

I think the timeline should be fixed, for example some events put year 1000AP into different time.
Ask @Blastbasher for more information, as he knows a lot more about this than me.

Other than inconsistencies I don't really have any lore I do not like, or can't thinl about one now.​

That makes sense! Now there’s been talk about a lore discord. What is that about and can anyone join?

Sure, everyone is welcome to join!

It is dedicated to lore, so everyone can learn or share their knowledge.
It has two subsections, one for @MagmaMelon's youtube channel (currently inactive because of MagmaMelon took a break for some time to focus on other things) and Wiki Edits led by me, focusing on updating and completing lore-related pages.

Not too surprised, but still very cool. you've been rather active recently and attempting to bring more attention to the wiki, which is really great as that place needs some updating
