I want to try the Wynntiles Mod. But i still want the 1.13 Swimming mechanics.
The problem: The Wynntiles is in Version 1.12.2 And not 1.13+. So I want to use a better swimming mod. Can I use one without beining banned from the wynncraft servers?

The issue is, Wynncraft recommends that you play on 1.12.2...so they are not planning on updating any time soon...additionally, because of this, the swimming mechanic does not work well on the Wynncraft server, this is extremely noticeable when playing the Underwater quest, in that when trying to swim through one-block gaps my friends and I have noticed that it rubberbands you as if you got stuck in a block...almost as if you were not supposed to swim that way. So, I agree the swimming mechanic will be missed, but Wynntils adds so much that it is a negligible loss. :D

Sorry, that was kind of long-winded.

They don't plan on updating because updating the game is a pain thanks to how Mojang reworks half the files in the game every single update.
    I can tell because between 1.8 and 1.16.2 there are like 4 different formats for making a pack (1.8.9, 1.9-1.12.2, 1.13-1.14.4, 1.15-latest).
They just keep changing the damn texture paths and folder names every update I want to make a pack and I just have to keep updating the texture paths every time they drop an update because something changes smh.

Yeah, don't quote me on this, but I believe this is because the server is natively on 1.12 so it doesn't recognise that the player is swimming, so for the server the player is just standing there in the water, and the server is trying to make you walk into a wall. Also the people who are on 1.12.2 will see you as walking into the aforementioned wall.

    Short answer is no.

Long answer is, Wynncraft has tons of legacy code that Mojang doesn't easily allow to port. 1.12.2 is the recommended version, and obviously 1.13+ features won't be in the game due to the amount of code that prevents the development team to easily port the server's many internals to 1.13 or 1.16 - it just won't happen any time soon.

Using mods is not recommended (Wynntils is an edge case due to its active development and continuous communication in regards to features it is allowed to introduce). From the rules:

For the large part, spigot hasn't removed many functions and methods. NMS has changed the mappings, but that could potentially be done with find and replace. There's a few other things that can't be done like this, but it wouldn't be the worst thing to do, at least compared to what I'm about to talk about.

What most people don't mention is the fact that most of the features and puzzles are done using command blocks, which had a major change in 1.13. Target selectors, /testfor, and /execute were all changed, not to mention JSON text elements needing to be reformatted. That would be a huge project for the CMD team, and they would have to learn the 1.13 syntax assuming they haven't learned it.
