Wow Minecraft In Smash

minecraft is going to be in smash so epic I guess

 

This is actually so surreal - steve is one of those characters that's such a meme that I never expected him to be in smash.

I don't even play smash bros and I wanted to watch the direct just to see people's reactions in chat. Was it going to be another Japanese character that nobody knows? Some kind of heavily requested character that would excite everyone? I wanted to see. I saw some people saying the usual: Waluigi, Sans (as his own character) and of course Steve. I had recently thought about how steve would be in smash bros (what would his moveset be?) and chucked to myself about the comments. The stream begun and when Sonic punched mario I expected him to land on Tails' plane or something (thought it might be tails just because sonic was there)
Mario then crashed through the stone wall, making a minecraft sound. It was at that moment that I started being excited myself. Steve broke through the wall and I had to quickly check whether or not I was dreaming.

I think Nintendo was inspired by a fan creation for this one, because I found a video made months earlier in which Kirby is knocked away from the stage by Mario and lands in a different one. Steve then mines through the wall. Interesting to see them do such a thing.

I mean, Sans got in so anything's possible now

 

Sans didn't get in because he was a meme (well i suppose part of it is the memes) but because he's one of the more important characters in Undertale.

 

I know.

Steve didn't get added because he's a meme either.
