[resolved] Unable To Beat The Escort Mission In "a Journey Beyond"

I'm currently playing as a level 100 Archer with armor/accessories that greatly boost my skill points in all 5 categories. I'm wearing the Hawkeye and I'm wielding the Cluster bow with all T6 thunder powders. Lastly, I took a high-level defense potion in an attempt to cancel out the low defense of the Archer class.

And despite all of this, I am completely unable to finish the escort mission in "A Journey Beyond". Specifically, I can't even get past the first wave of monsters simply called "Darkness" as they tank my hits (including Arrow Storm) way too much and combo me to death in seconds with Multihit as multiple of them often use it at once and stack its effects, which effectively can take out an entire row of my hearts in seconds. The worst part is that Aledar eventually claims that the monsters have "stopped coming" and continues the escort mission even though I'm still actively fighting (and getting destroyed by) the monsters. And the "Darkness" monsters chase after me if I try to ignore them and follow Aledar.

I've already tried using Escape to get to higher ground and Arrow Storm them to death; however, I have attempted this mission several times already and have yet to succeed in doing so. They either stunlock me with Multihits or use Charge to reach where I'm currently trying to hide from them. And I have no other bows in my bank right now that are equally as strong as my Cluster but wield different elements (and even so my Hawkeye should enable me to destroy these monsters despite their defense to thunder).

I'm all out of ideas on how to beat this escort mission without being obliterated. I'll gladly accept any advice you all can provide me with as I really want to progress with the Silent Expanse storyline. I greatly appreciate it! :)

Also, if any devs are reading this, I'd greatly appreciate it if in a future patch, you can allow players to consistently respawn close to where the escort mission starts as whenever I die, I keep respawning in the Jungle Village (I'm playing minecraft 1.13), which is a very long walk from the Silent Expanse... Thank you!

UPDATE: I spent some LE getting a bow based on a different element than thunder and I was able to breeze right through the escort mission. For those of you who in a similar situation as myself, the "Darkness" monsters are very resistant to thunder to the point of them being almost impossible to kill, so make sure you have other elements at your disposal.

 

It seems like your build isn't strong enough. You can ask for one on the Discord or on the forum's Class Builds section.

Also, you're supposed to respawn at the start of the escort mission (at least I did when I died), though I don't know why it doesn't happen.

 

cluster does not enjoy running rainbow
