Just Started Playing Wynncraft A Day Ago And Noticed Something

Some of the features of Wynncraft are really Legend of Zelda based. There are a few features that I know of such as gaining Rupees (emeralds) through breaking pots, interacting with objects and a few quests. 2 notable ones are Maltics Well, which is similar to Legend of Zelda's Ocarina of time where there is also a well and some mysterious phenomenon. Another one should be the most obvious which is the Macabre Masquerade quest where this one is based off Legend of Zelda's Majora's mask for the mask keeper. Well, it kind of surprised me as a beginner...

 

Wynncraft is full of references

 

According to the forums, the secret discoveries were inspired by BotW Shrines. There are other references like Avatar: TLA, Shrek, and others I can't think of at the minute.

martin (sounds like this but spelt different) is a reference to "inthelittlewood"

 

There is also reference from Series of Unfortunate Events (1k meters under quest)

 

The guardian of the forest is probably based on the Deku Tree

 

There is an ost called in the little wood

 

Thats a reference to the youtuber "InTheLittleWood"
Its not just an ost, there is also a whole area, aswell as a house. In fact, it goes a bit dipper, the npc named "Martyn" from the time valley quest, is in reference to the youtuber aswell, as his real name is Martyn.

 

Old man Martyn is actually designed to fit in with the Martyn's hut in the little wood area, so he is linked to InTheLittleWood but not completely (i think)

 

Outside of the Lost Sanctuary there's Pottur, Dumble and Dure.

 

We can't forget the most powerful reference of all though

 

A few more are harry potter, homestuck, and lord of the rings

 

I hate that quest the most out of the whole swamp. Not because the gameplay or story is exceptionally worse than the other quests in the area. It’s that it’s so cynical by being like, “Here’s another nothing sandwich of a fetch quest, but look it’s Shrek! Isn’t that just sooooooo hilarious?” Oh yeah and it gives you another quest helmet. At least it’s not a quest item, but quest helmets are so flawed that they shouldn’t exist at all.

 

The Viking helmet skin is the daedric helmet from skyrim
