So I Started Under A Week Ago And I Need Advice

I'm like level 34 and I'm a mage; what weapon should I go for? I've got okay armor but my weapon is garbo. I'm pretty good on emeralds, I have like a stack and a half of blocks and can get more easily.

 

You've done well to get to level 34 in under a week. When I joined, it took something like 2 months to get to that point. Tribal flute isn't the best weapon but it got me through that level and somehow to level 68. It's a level higher than you are but that shouldn't be a problem.

 

Waves Raiser carried my mage from level 35 to level 70, I would recommend getting it

 

I'll let you in on a little secret; your gear isn't really important until the endgame and if you have money you can just buy it. The best way to level is to do quests which generally give 50% of the xp you need to level up when done at level and for the most part don't require you to fight bosses. If you're really concerned with getting better gear, I would use whatever equipment the dungeon at your level sells, the wands at sst aren't great but they're good enough to get you something better. Aya also suggested getting waves raiser which a great choice if you want to just buy it.

Do your quests, otherwise you are missing most of the content. Also, try not to look at the wiki too often. It can ruin the puzzles. Turning up FOV to 80-90 is good too

 

I also usually link that thread because it is a good discussion about the game in general, what people consider to be do's and don't's. That kind of stuff.

 

In addition to the above advice, also use Wynndata to search up items for around your level. It also has a builds section where you can create builds and see their stats before making a final decision.

just make sure to finish all your quests to level up quickly :)

 

tbh using wiki is 100% justified considering how buggy or poorly designed some of the quests are (i'm very mad at Flight in Distress and Envoy 1 rn)

 

For reals. I just got through Envoy pt 1 not long ago, and it's probably the buggiest quest I've done.

ive never played mage, but i remember at around level 40 i got a wand called Haqherphix. it can give a lot of mana steal and gives high melee damage, so i think it should be pretty good for a level 42 mage.

 

I have tried most of the lv 30-36 weapons, for me when I'm about that level is lv30 rite staff but it is legendary.

You don't need to focus on if u need to get a certain one. I grind at the silverfish and spider hole near Almuj, and I get tons of wands. Just identify until you get one that fits your playstyle (and element)
