Minecraft Eula Changes: Possible Gc Return?

It seems that the Minecraft EULA that banned outright pay to win content was changed, and the restrictions on PvE servers were lifted (now only PvP servers cannot have paid advantages).
AFAIK, GC and the GC shop were removed only due to the EULA blocking them, but as the server doesn't contain PvP elements, could GC return?

gold coins are still in the game but only for people who had them before the EULA changes.

 

If I remember correctly, it's not only barred for PvP: it's barred for any competitive server. And, though Wynn is not by design a competitive, cutthroat server, the economy and leaderboards make it at least a grey area.

In addition, the reason gold coins were removed was, if I remember, not because they were pay to win, but because there are restrictions on using ingame currency that you can purchase and earn through normal gameplay means or something like that. I have no idea if this now allowed, but even if it is, do we really want to see gold coins come back?

I would, in what is probably a very, very unpopular opinion, argue that it might be nice, if they worked a bit differently - specifically, if it was very strictly untradable and only earned ingame. A currency you could earn in the game, that would allow you to make purchases in the store would add an incentive to do whatever challenge it required, and would give players a way to purchase things from the store without spending money, especially if they cannot already.

However, I'm pretty sure most people would disagree with me here, and they have every reason to. No one wants a system that can potentially be pay to win, and even then, a system that rewards players with rewards of monetary value through gameplay means is definitely something people would have reservations about.

Honestly, I'd like the monthly crate thing to be replaced with something like monthly GC, although giving it a different name would be a good thing so that the current system doesn't conflict with the old one that's still in place for good reason. The monthly crates don't always work (I haven't gotten one for a few months even though i claim them), but daily rewards do. I imagine it would be easier to do as something automatically (or claimable like daily chest), rather than trying to get the website and plugin to work together.

 

oh, this is interesting.. even salted was here, but i have to say i prefer Wynn as it is but maybe you can add more pay elements so it can help the server if you need to, just dont go full p2w

 

But I remember GC could only buy pets and bombs? If I remembered correctly then GC returning would not be p2w and would be compliant with the new terms of use.

Pre EULA the p2w perks were the xp bonus and combat pets

Gold Coins didn't go away entirely, I've still got 60 of them from when I won some during one of the Gavel Streams
Removing the in-game store would probably be against the Commercial Usage Guidelines as people who paid for GC in the past wouldn't be able to use them now. You can still type /gc and then this comes up
