I’m replaying the game rn and the level 50’s particularly in Gavel, has been the worst part so far. I liked Undergrowth Ruins though.

1-20 is fast, but no a problem as the 'reward' of levelling up potentially keeps new players interested and makes them feel like they're progressing well.
    21-40 is pretty well-paced too I feel.
After that, I stop considering it early game (once you get to Gavel basically)

I find the levelling can usually be too fast in the 1-20 range for its own good.
Whenever I have started a new character, It is regularly quite easy to level up without fully intending to while just trying to get a little bit of basic gear. I don't keep a hold of any early-game gear until around level 25, but quite regularly I end up only completing a few of the early quests as I surpass the level requirement without thinking, and often unlocking higher level quests which are then a better use of time as a result.

Most of my characters don't complete most of the early-level quests for Temple of Legends until past level 40, more often level 50+ as ToL starts to feel closer and having the quest items begins to feel important as a result. In addition, it's rare for me to take any of my characters to Time Valley at all, since I am usually beyond the level of the area by the time I would normally get around to it as the usual route goes Ragni -> Detlas -> Nemract.

It always feels good to blaze through the early levels, but it can also make gear a little awkward to work with as you go through the levels fast enough that you usually are moving onto the next region before you've gotten a wider selection of upgrades, sometimes leaving lower level characters with much lower-level gear than the region they are moving to. I've had more than one occasion where I've had a level 8 chestplate while running around Ancient Nemract.

Most of these issues fade away a bit once you start getting to level 20+ as the levelling slows and as a result makes it a little easier to keep up with the gear, though it usually isn't till you get to around the mid-late 30s where it feels like it reaches a well balanced pace.
