Spell Combo For Archer?

Like ik, archer stay back but any ideas for combos for archer?

 

Escape, Arrow Shield, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Escape...

 

depends on what weapon you're using and your mana costs and nighthawk etc.

like in my opinion, for a nighthawk archer i'd do:
arrow storm > arrow storm > bomb > arrow storm > arrow storm > bomb > arrow storm > ...
2x storm > 1x bomb > 2x storm > 1x bomb
(more reliance on storms for damage)

if you're using orange lily, which has spammable bombs, i'd do:
arrow storm > bomb > bomb > bomb > arrow storm > bomb > bomb > bomb > arrow storm > bomb > ...
1x storm > 3x bomb > 1x storm > 3x bomb
(more reliance on bombs for damage)

if you're just a normal archer without nighthawk with 2/1 mana each spells, i'd do:
arrow storm > arrow storm > bomb > arrow storm > arrow storm > bomb > arrow storm > ...
OR
bomb > bomb > arrow storm > bomb > bomb > arrow storm > bomb > ...
(whichever spell you like to use more)

anyways cycling with different spells is crucial otherwise your mana costs will go sky high and you'll run out of mana pretty fast.

for escape, i'd use it only in sticky situations and when your current 3 minutes of speed runs out. i'd also use it before going into boss rooms and in transition phases of bosses.

for arrow shield, i'd try to keep a perpetual arrow shield on. if your current arrow shield runs out, cast a new one immediately. this kinda falls apart with weapons like orange lily where you'll actually have to be careful about how you cast arrow shield or else you'll run out of mana due to it's super high cost. like escape, i'd also cast it before going into boss rooms and in transition phases.

of course, this is all assuming you're a classic spellspam archer. spellsteal/hybrid archer would probably mix in a main attack in between the spells, as it's their source of mana and hp.

Personally I use Storm-Storm-Storm-Bomb on Olily because with Dragons Eye bomb still costs 1 mana using that combo. I also use escape-shield-bomb to burst down enemies at close range

 

everyone be discussing fancy spell combos and here i am alternating storm and bomb… i mean if you cast any spell twice in a row you lose extra mana for nothing, both spells pull their weight well enough that you don't need to markedly prefer one over the other in most situations

i get arguments like olily deye where you don't suffer that loss but this isn't really the norm for archers right

you can net gain on mana in the time it takes for you to land back down, so it's good for mana management even if you're not about to get kerbstomped by whatever boss. tbf most builds have enough mana that they don't care but my point is that escape isn't strictly for emergency use.

it's also kinda unreliable depending on how many enemies there are that could waste the shield charges

also worth noting that it's not always practical since dualwielding and stuff deletes the shield
