    DEBUNKED :(

Guys, you will not believe this. In all my time as a theorist I have never been so hyped. I’ve discovered something. Something about the Sealed Letters. Let me start from the beginning.

There have been a few threads about the Sealed Letters recently, and because of this I was just looking on the wiki page about the Sealed Letters. On said wiki page, there are some screenshots of each letter. I skimmed over these, and then I saw it. Something different. Something that I don’t think anyone has seen before, at least not to my knowledge.

Here’s the link to the wiki page: https://wynncraft.gamepedia.com/Sealed_Letters

Letter six. Look at it. Here it is:

    upload_2020-8-8_8-14-31.png

Look. The number, on the top right. Red.

All the other numbers, on the other letters, are uniform grey – not red. Straight away this got me thinking. There’s something special about this letter. And before you tell me I’m reading too much into it, think about it for a second. Why would the developers single out this letter, this number, this specific symbol? No, there’s something special about the letter, and more than that, the number.

It occurred to me that, like many others of the letters, this number was a blurred out symbol, not a number at all. It was also found in the text of the sixth letter. It would make sense if the rune was “M”, but M/10 didn’t seem sensible.

I did some research, and the rune is not Wynnic, or Ogham, or Danish, all languages which Wynncraft has used at one point or another in the lore. The closest thing I could find was, surprisingly, Russian, but even that bore no resemblance to the rune.

But then I realised something. This curious rune showed up elsewhere. Most notably, letter three.

    upload_2020-8-8_8-15-6.png

Look on the right of the title line. Find the rune. Here’s the thing. So far, it’s been established that the mystery rune is a number.

Well now we know what number it is. It’s a 0. We know this because it is the second rune in the “10” on the titular line. It pops up elsewhere in the other letters, but there it just seems to be used to blur out bits of text, to keep the reader guessing, so on.

But if the rune is a 0, that means “letter six” is actually “letter 0”. That seems absurd, doesn’t it? You can’t put it before letter one, which literally says “Dear Nilrem” at the start. I was puzzled about this as well, before I had an idea. What if I just removed letter six altogether?

Pull up the wiki again. Look at letter seven. The wiki states that: “The seventh letter is currently unavailable, but its contents have been discovered.” This, of course, was from the now-removed relics, which were the original way of getting the letters before the Nesaak Discovery.

But WHY ON EARTH would the CT just yeet a completely canon letter out of the discovery? The only other letter we can’t get is the mythical tenth letter, which has never been found.

I doubt the CT would just yoinkthe 7th letter out of existence for no reason. Then, I had another idea. What if, in addition to letter six, I took out letter seven?

This is the text without the sixth and seventh letters:

    Dear Nilrem,

The letter I enclose to you has been sealed with concealment magicks. I trust you to know how to read it.

My war against the creature is futile. Intel has reached me from a trusted source. Our world is far smaller than we could have imagined, our magick feeble in comparison to what I am about to explain.

There are realms beyond our comprehension, powers we can not hope to defeat. Two immense forces are at war, with our plain of existence being the battleground. There is a dark creature of the night in a land "far" away, it poses a threat to all.

I give you this letter as a warning and a farewell, friend. I am going to challenge the beast and attempt to seal it away using my own life force, for I know that is all I can do, killing it is not an option.

You know of the magic I have infused in my animal companions, I trust you to hide them until one worthy is able to wield my might. The world can not know of my sacrifice, no one must search for me. You must fake my death, and create a body [letters 6 and 7 removed] will have a fighting chance for the years to come. I wish you luck, Nilrem, continue to train the forces of good, you are the most skilled man than I have ever known.

    Yours faithfully, Robert.

P.s. I have enclosed the item of power you were seeking.

Now if you take this at face value, it would be very easy to stick the word “that” where letters 6 and 7 would be, and read it from there. And I think that’s a good thought. When you think about it, lots of words are blurred out, so it’s possible this one has just slipped through the gap between letters.

Read it again, with the word “that”, where I placed it: You must fake my death, and create a body that will have a fighting chance for the years to come.

Let’s assume that this is right. What it’s saying is that Nilrem must create a new body of Bob that will fight against evil. Here’s my theory: WE ARE BOB’S REINCARNATION. We are different. We are the ones who continue in the spirit of Bob. There’s more evidence as well:

    1) We are the ones who kill Bob’s spirit, which shows that we have taken over the role.

    2) The Ragni Library alludes to us “following in Bob’s footsteps”

    3) We fight corruption and we are, later in Wynncraft, going to defeat the Beast

In the letters, Bob makes no bones about it – he knows he isn’t coming back. He knows he’s as good as dead. So why is he so chill about it? Well, I think that according to my theory, he knows that he’ll still be in Wynn, in us.

Maybe out there in Dern, Bob is in a prison cell, dying more day by day. But maybe, just maybe, he is looking at us, and seeing himself reflected there.

Wow. I worked on that right through last night. I wonder what my parents would've thought if they'd realised I'd been googling celtic numbers in my room at 2 in the morning.

I got about an hour of sleep so do me a favour and be nice.
Also message me for the link to our lore discord, which is growing hugely!

So while an interesting theory, there's a really, really big fault in this. You see, even though you can't get them anymore, and there's surprisingly little info about them, a bit of searching around got me these screenshots:

Which means that the text being obscured seems to actually be one of those gibberish changing letters you see occasionally, and removing the sixth aealed letter doesn't actually have any reason for it. Taking out the seventh is a bit unfair as I don't think it's been available, ever- I assume someone from staff confirmed it at one point? However, taking out the seventh letter gives you the full text of:

    Dear Nilrem,

The letter I enclose to you has been sealed with concealment magicks. I trust you to know how to read it.

The world can not know of my sacrifice, no one must search for me. You must fake my death, and create a body for them to bury (and they?) will have a fighting chance for the years to come. I wish you luck, Nilrem, continue to train the forces of good, you are the most skilled man than I have ever known.

    Yours faithfully, Robert.

Which really doesn't have any extra lore consequences, I believe.

Is that one supposed to give you the Sealed Letters? It's not actually explicitly stated anywhere, but the image attached to the wiki pages suggests so. I've tried it twice when the Nesaak discoveries were first added and again just earlier, but it's never actually given me anything.

Ah ok. I can't really debate any of your points since they're all facts lol, but thanks for letting me know.

    Wait a second...
So I'm tired for nothing?! xD

Well, it was still a cool idea, I guess....

Although there is something fishy about this red color, the symbols dont appear to have any significance and only serve to blur out things. If you look at other symbols, and even this one that appears red once, they assume different meanings in each usage. Some questions: how was the content of the seventh letter discovered? And what possibly could be the tenth letter? The letter is already over at the ninth letter, the only thing that would make sense would be another PS. Why dont we have access to the tenth letter?

Also, although a theory of us being made to earn bobs legacy is pretty interesting, bob specifically refers to the new recruits as having a fighting chance. I still prefer my personal theory that the wave of recruits that you came with, that became the most skilled warriors, were, instead of a normal fruman recruit who used to be a peasants, from the nobility. Either from a rebelled group being punished or loyal to the queen that volunteered to lost their memories and help wynn.

PS: can you send me on my discord (N1nj4_K1w1#6289) the link to the lore discord? Thxx

I still don’t understand Bob’s reincarnation? Like is he actually dead or no? It doesn’t make sense that we’re Bob’s reincarnation because we literally fight it or his spirit or whatever.

''I trust you know how to read it''

Now take this information. If Nilrem is some kind of incredible wizard who we have yet to meet, we can assume that this letter isn't supposed to be entirely correct. I'm almost certain that some fruman recruit wouldn't be able to read this properly without noticing some kind of secret code. If this thread is correct, there are some things we can gather from it:

If we are a body created by Nilrem, he's probably in Fruma
We are not actually Bob, but a sentient being crated by Nilrem anyway
Nilrem has somehow created us with the ability to slightly read the letters
If the letter is letter zero, shouldn't it come first? It wouldn't make any sense, but just because it's letter zero doesn't mean it is void from existance
    Letter 10 is incredibly important

Also an additional theory about Nilrem comes from the quest Deja Vu, and that is that Nilrem used to live in Time Valley. At the end of the quest, Asher tells you he thinks he knew Bob. He then tells you that there are multiple letters to and from him inside the house. It's possible that Nilrem lived in that shack and left to Fruma to create the body that could fight the corruption, then Asher moved in. It's also possible that Asher has letter 10. I am doubtful that there are any secrets at all inside of Asher's house that may somehow grant you letter 10, but they might add that in the future.
